Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery

Really great app when in Bali and Thailand! One hundred percent needed. The only down side. I’ve had drivers not finishing trips, and/or requesting additional time/money. Watch them close/end the trip when you get out. Also don’t give them cash if you have paid by card, not all but some have said “you card has declined, you need to pay money”. Don’t unless you have chosen pay by cash. It’s still a 5 star because grab refund if they over ride. It’s painful to have to go through all that. Don’t let that discourage you, it’s drivers not grab. Again great app! Highly recommended.

If you’re travelling to Singapore and thinking “this looks like a convenient service let’s download it”, just stop and save yourself the headaches. Otherwise enjoy a whirlwind of broken payment systems, non-existent support, monopolistic pricing (thank the SG gov for that), dark UI patterns at every step to trap you and bizarre infatuations with perverse crypto partnerships.

As a frequent traveller to Malaysia, I have been using Grab for a few years but the recent restrictions put on foreign card wallet top up has almost made the app unusable for me. I can understand the 1.1% fee charged on top up but to limit it to only Malaysian issued card is totally dumb and unnecessary. The monthly subscription of Grab Unlimited is deducted from my wallet balance every month but now with my balance reduced to less than the monthly fee, I am no longer able to take advantage of the offers that come with it cause I have no way of topping up my e-wallet.

Previously any grievances could at least be sorted out with the grab in app chat. Now i cant even reach an agent and its so difficult. It was barely managing on with high prices and difficult to reach service. Now its practically impossible.

From the last second extra fees and messages that come after orders are made to say some fees weren’t in a price. Not such a comforting thing. Have also noticed clicks in the app seem to happen automatically when checking out. I even tapped 3 star to start and 4 star was highlighted… this is why I decided something was off and to make it 2 star.

Once i installed this app, i couldn’t use some other app for nearly a year, thought it was the others’ issue, until read an article about app crashed other app and recall the problem happened after i have this app installed (a trip to Vietnam). Once i removed this app from my phone the problem resolved without any further action…

Pre booked a driver. The driver asked me to cancel because he was too far away to pick me up 15 minutes before pick up time. So I cancelled and selected requested by driver as the reason. I still got charged. When I got the email to say I had been charged and to reimburse the driver for his effort and selected in correct fair I got pressed incorrect fair. Which took me to page not found.

First time I used Grab in Vietnam to go to Hoi An An Bang Beach. The car arrived in 1 minute and driver was very nice and polite. Car was clean.

Don’t use this terrible app They hold and keep your money forever when your food is cancelled (because your food is taking 2 hours to prepare or they don’t deliver your food in general) Will never use this app again
