Earn cash payments and reduce your electricity bill all year round. An average household can earn more than $100/year — oh, and 98% of GridRewards participants got paid last year. GridRewards is a powerful tool to create new routines and change our behavior around energy use. We encourage people to be more mindful of our power consumption, how energy is produced, and how our daily actions add up. Together with our neighbors, our small change adds up to real change, real carbon impact, and real money. And we shift the power from energy companies to our communities. HOW IT WORKS 1. Unplug during events.  GridRewards events are the most important times to save electricity. We’ll tell you when they’re happening — usually during hot summer afternoons, about 5-10 times per year. 2. Get paid. Get your friends paid. We'll send you a check at the end of the year for the electricity you save during events. Get $10 extra for each friend you refer. Work together with your neighborhood to earn extra rewards and multiply your impact! 3. Reduce your carbon footprint. Keep an eye on your electricity use and carbon footprint. Get personalized energy insights and learn about the best times to use energy. WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM? Your utility company pays to reduce electricity at peak times to help maintain system reliability in your community. ## GridRewards Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/2d/56/a3/2d56a3b1-b9b1-ab86-afca-b739fc25dedc/34315ca2-2d0d-4ccc-b2e0-e27c1afb1e89_AppStore_5_5_01.png/392x696bb.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/9f/1e/16/9f1e1692-4e0d-567d-0b26-3ea7e27d9197/979a62d5-fd5e-4147-944b-b8a0fec4bad1_AppStore_5_5_02.png/392x696bb.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/05/e9/6b/05e96bf9-7f57-5a3e-e215-ad11e04aa7a4/8bb5a4d1-3f46-4b68-b2c7-4bcf0031d48f_AppStore_5_5_03.png/392x696bb.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/f5/fa/9a/f5fa9a88-aa2a-2eec-c866-6a7785c5e34c/7a0f4430-06a2-42ed-acab-78fc8e482a2e_AppStore_5_5_04.png/392x696bb.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/f9/a5/e1/f9a5e145-4df3-ff74-7009-f13561fe12e8/0d8e3494-9540-4e8e-8873-627d4ab7e0db_AppStore_5_5_05.png/392x696bb.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource122/v4/fb/35/91/fb359101-f52e-a5bf-4730-685ba41aed9c/307c9fd6-41ef-4865-8d9b-f8c817376bc3_AppStore_5_5_06.png/392x696bb.png) ## GridRewards Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 768 (84%) - 4 stars: 62 (7%) - 3 stars: 14 (2%) - 2 stars: 11 (1%) - 1 stars: 62 (7%) ## GridRewards Reviews in United States ### *---- "It’s always 0% of the goal" I don’t even at home and nothing is running. Every event I checked had 0% of the goal archived. -- xueranshan, 2025-08-20 ### *---- "Doesn’t work" App says it incentivizes and rewards you for saving energy; even not being home for several of the events it tells me I saved 0%. Waste of phone space and battery even writing this review -- Dhxidejdifkekc, 2025-07-31 ### *---- "No rewards" Consistent emails and no rewards if I don’t promote. -- DJ Lodose, 2025-07-30 ### *---- "Ha ha rewards" Still trying to contact tech or help-Tried 21 times- phone, chat, email to tech.cannot complete final step to share as page says I have already shared yet recd email saying I need to complete- NIGHTMARE. I SENT MY LANDLINE# where is a person? -- Madam Renard, 2025-07-24 ### *---- "It didn’t work" Is this app/website still working? It said I already signed up the account, but I couldn’t login. I tried to reset password, but no link was sent to me. I tried to email them to get support, nobody replied to my email. -- Hehoha1234, 2025-06-29 ### **--- "Unfair payment" I started grid rewards about two years ago the first year I participated in two and was paid $58 and some change this year I participated in five with 100% and got $18 so I don’t know if this was a mistake but no one has answered me about how I participated in five and with 100% completion and got $18 so I’m gonna say I gave them a two and I got no response so far with my complaint. -- cheriebrwn88, 2025-03-20 ### ***** "Every little bit helps" Glad I can do my part to help conserve energy during peak hours. If everyone could try to do a little something, maybe we could avoid blackouts. -- Island girl 70, 2024-07-18 ### *---- "Scammy" Have never actually gotten the money back I’m supposed to. The first year the electronic transfer didn’t work. This year they sent a pdf check. My bank (Chase) wouldn’t accept it through the app or in person. They also put all kinds of restrictions on the check to make it harder to cash. -- animaltourism, 2024-06-14 ### ***** "Grid Rewards provides helpful advice" As a person concerned with the climate crisis, I like having access to the content of electricity sources each hour of the day. I especially appreciate a quick overview of how much is from renewable resources. -- Jan from Upper West Side, 2024-04-15 [View all GridRewards reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## GridRewards Discovered Keywords -
