Free version getting worse

I don’t mind ads, I don’t mind full screen adverts even. But the performance of the free version is getting worse and worse. Slowly more and more free features are being reduced .

Bugs

App has been extremely buggy the last few updates. Although normally an amazing app this is a set back. Of note, I am a long term grindr extra customer. Part of this service was , sent, delivered and read receipts. With recent updates you only get delivered and read receipts. Albums were also deleted recently meaning I have lost a lot of the library I had. Less service same price.

Worse with every update

The app has been progressively getting worse with each update. It always loses pictures and chats. Completely bombarded with ads beyond reason to force one to get a subscription. Even with a subscription the functionality only marginally improves despite the high price

Terribly Limiting & Expensive

Grindr has gotten worse over the years. And the paid subscription is abysmally expensive. Moreover, they are still selling people’s HIV status data. They are a horrible company, and they are seriously not LGBTQ-friendly.

Late Notifications & Data

App sends me notifications after a few minutes of opening it. Also the app doesn’t seem to work on mobile data. So frustrating

Shockingly bad!

At this stage this app amounts to a power hungry piece of Chinese malware. Chews through both battery and data. Slow as molasses. Aggressive ads. User hostile design. Avoid!

Riddled with bugs

I don’t know what has happened over the last year with this app but it has become so insanely buggy and glitchy that it’s unusable. I have a new iphone and latest version of the app and still cannot open it without experiencing at least 3 constant bugs to the point I just close it and save the fuss. Stick to other dating apps. Messages have disappeared and it’s almost unusable now

Update - All of my album photos have been lost by Grindr. None of the issues below have been fixed. Don’t waste your time or money on this dumpster fire of an app. A few weeks ago I got a notification to say my messages would be moving to their new system. I lost the majority of them. Since then the app has been a mess. If I want to see new messages or taps I have to refresh my inbox. When someone messages me it doesn’t appear on the grid. Guys frequently appear offline and then online again randomly when we’re chatting. Photos aren’t saved in the chat unless I manually scroll back through the messages. The search function in the inbox is gone. I would not recommend.
