Love this app. Refreshing to see all news reports from different places & how the wording changes depending on who is reporting it. Love love love the factuality checks!!
So good to read such well researched articles where I can decide from all the points of view presented what my opinion will be.
Gives a great coverage of news articles along with where the article was published and the publisher’s bias.
I was recomended it by David Zhang for a sponser and I’m telling you it’s the best like full 5 stars 100% biased you can pick your news anywhere
It’s absolutely flooded with ads. I accept that ads offset running cost but here they completely overrun the news stories. Very disappointed with this ad aspect as the concept promised so much. I shall cancel my subscription.
Only let let you know when it’s renewed time after they got the money out of your bank account made it extremely difficult to cancel and refuse to refund. It’s another app only interested in keeping your subscribed huge features and nothing didn’t nobody else provides.
Presents a wide variety of options to see how different outlets present the news on a subject. The ratings can be misleading, for example if x amount sites report a story the same, then all those sites should be rated with the same factuality. The summaries where different leaning outlets is most useful. Would be nice to eventually see like a variance rating. For now I take the right-left and factuality ratings with a pinch of salt. They don’t seem accurate or that could just be bias coming through 🙂
Pretty good app for news coverage however has too many US outlets (which is great) and not enough Australian outlets. Its political bias is through an US lens, the political perspective leans too right so what would be Far-right in the rest of the world in the US it’s Right wing, and what would be centrist is left. Ground News acknowledges this with the US based media monitors. I believe this is an area ground news need to work on for non-US audiences and correcting political scaling.
The trial isn’t long enough, and I feel that’s intended to get you to pay before seeing how shallow the app really is. Ultimately the bias comparison is ‘ok’ but awfully shallow in implementation. At the end of the day you are still consuming mainstream news, which is wholly unreliable and biased on both sides. Often it’s not a left right bias anymore, it’s just flat out lights for an agenda. Your better off without this app.
