Ground News Reviews

News app for the times

Djazzed on

Denmark

So fascinated with the Ground News concept. News without any weird agendas other than educating the reader. Transparent, deep and just a joy to use. Please keep hacking away on the incumbents.

Delayed news that are mainly US and sports focused

Max_qahira on

Denmark

Ok when one is mainly interested in (delayed) US news or sports. The app is often late compared to DR, The Guardian or the BBC when it comes to reporting important events - it even creates alerts on yesterdays news. It’s also very sports focused when it comes to local news without the ability to set preferences (sometimes one can select a preference on fewer news from specific teams but never from a specific sport or sport in general). There are few instances where a news story is a blindspot for the left, it seems like most news are reported by all outlets or have blindspots for the right. So overall not so useful.

Sounds good but …

SirJoeMagic on

Denmark

The concept is great, there is definitely a product/market fit and a real need for such a solution. However, for European target audience, it’s pretty rubbish: Despite customising the feed and my interests, the news I get are just not very relevant to me. With a such diverse nation landscape like in Europe, there needs to be a higher degree of customisation l. The devs say they pull 50,000+ sources - well, then let me select some of the countries around me. I still end up with US this, US that, Ottawa this, Montreal that …

Exceptional product

A.Y.M I on

10/10 product. Will recommend. It not only highlights the political biases in an article, but it also shows whether an article is factual or not.

Source of Truth

Søren Dinesen on

Denmark

Ground News helps me stay up to date while evaluating fact vs misinformation. Insights into the degree of bias in the information we receive in news, are a rare thing these days.

Cookie and ad aggressive

Danrice59 on

United States

Some of the new sites are very cookie, aggressive, and have too many intrusive ads. other than that, I really like how the program works and you can get an overview of how an article on a certain subject is being talked about.
