Ground News Reviews

Beyond useful in breaking the echo chamber

aerynsfyre on

This is honestly the most useful news app around. The way they source so many articles to let you see how something is being reported across the political spectrum is absolutely fantastic. I can’t recommend it enough.

Fantastic app - enabled objectivity in a news world of hype

Great app, it provides important context and has really changed the way I comprehend the news information I read.

The best way to know what’s happening in the world

sagegeorge on

New Zealand

After having been on a prolonged news fast, I decided to try Ground News. I have stayed with it ever since. It helps me maintain a balanced global perspective, by presenting headlines from across the world and advising me on the ideological leaning of the sources. I still subscribe to news from specific sources such as BBC, NPR, and Washington Post, but I now have a global context which I can use to be more critical of what I read.

So so useful

I’m currently at university majoring in media studies, and I can’t stress enough how useful Ground News has been. It’s gone hand in hand with so much of the work I’ve done, and is now my main news source. A must have for anyone studying the news, it’s practically a research assistant, and I can’t wait to see this app gain more popularity :)

Very laggy

Great app, but too much lag to use on iPhone XS. Definitely would consider paying for a subscription if this is fixed!

Great app that shows all sides of the same story

kelzbobelz on

Fantastic and enjoyable app, interesting to see the differences in right/left/centre headlines let alone the story itself. I also love the feature that shows your biases based on what you predominantly use

Can’t open the app

AlexeyNZ on

New Zealand

Getting the following error on launch: “The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "production.checkitt.news" which could put your confidential information at risk.” Located in New Zealand. iPhone 8 iOS 13.6 Date & Time is set automatically; not using a VPN. P.S. love the website, just a shame about the app.

Hi, the app opens but when I click continue as guest or sign up with email/Facebook it says “certificate for this server if invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “production.checkitt.news” which could put your confidential information at risk”
