Please make Groups.io like A app with tabs, A profile tab yes, I can't find my profile, And I'm sick of it. Good app.
While this app is handy to be able to view Groups on my mobile device, it absolutely fails at accessing linked content. Click on any image or attachment and while it opens, there’s no way to close but to forcefully kill the app. If the developer could fix this one issue they’d turn their ratings from 1 to 5 almost instantly. It would be nice if the developer could give this a bit of attention - especially when they are trying to collect fees from groups using the enhanced services like files and DB.
The overall usability of the app is archaic, due to most components not fitting on screen correctly on moderen hardware.
Nav seems like it should be fundamental in the app. I have to force quit to get back to the post. easier to read via browser than via this apps. please fix it
Saving website to homescreen also works very well. Looks and feels like an app with an icon. Groups.io is a good alternative to many intrusive social media companies. Not tracking and no ads. We are using instead of nextdoor.
I like having better control of notifications instead of having to check email but navigation is a pain without a back button. Edit: Has been out for months now. Still no back button any link from an email or browser has to be clicked twice. It will take you to your home feed on the app so you have to go back to the source and click it again. If you get a notification from the app it opens the app, the notification disappears and then you have to find the topic on your own. I’m about to delete the app and stick with using a browser. And I’m deducting another star.
This lack of a very elemental feature makes the app useless for me.
I have to agree with OnlyDavid. Not having a back button has me returning to the website to navigate Groups.io. I’m guessing (hoping) Mark has this in the mix on the next upgrade.
The app is just bringing the website to an app. Many times I have to close it and start back up because there is no way to go back. Just use the website.
One of the great things about building an app is that you can go fast beyond the standard webpage. It can be more interactive. You can rearrange the layout. Change the way the editor works to make it more like a word processor. You can do things that you never dreamed before. I understand this is a website, but the app is nothing but the website. Even worse, it’s the website without the back button or the ability to pull up two instances of the website. I don’t know why Groups.io bothered with the app.
