### *---- "I’m over subscription everything."
Another app that demands a subscription to use it. It’s a cookbook. It costs $40 to subscribe for a year. I can buy a really nice cookbook for that and own it for life. I can buy the same cookbook at a used bookstore for $5 - $10 and own it for life. The point is that subscription books like this are a rip off and never worth subscribing to. Especially at $40 a year. 

No thanks, deleted, heading to my local bookstore now. Byeeeeeee.

### **--- "Good content, inconsistent access due to sign in requirements"
Overall I’m enjoying the layout and contents. Many usable recipes and seemingly high quality versions for every dietary requirement. The catch is that when I’m on cellular I can sign in, same with using VPN. this is frustrating as I travel frequently and then have no aces to the app without WiFi. I’m considering canceling as their is no help

### ***** "Thank you from someone who does not eat animals!"
I’ve been making recipes from The Guardian for years (especially those by Meera Sodha) and I’m really excited about this new app! 

I immediately came here to write a review when I saw the account > settings > toggle on/off option to “hide meat-based recipes on your homepage.” 

Thank you so much for recognizing that this could make or break a user’s experience with the app. I am thrilled that I can open the app without dreading what I might see!

So not only do we have to subscribe for life, we now get ads from Tesco. Thanks but no thanks. Prefer to buy a book of recipes once which I keep for life.

I was so excited when I saw this on the Guardian website but this app doesn't work at all! It's very slow and stutters just scrolling. When I try to search it shows me the results for a second then takes them away and says, "no results found." Hope this gets fixed!

Seems to have some fun, if not too many practical, recipes.  And who doesn’t love Yotam Ottolenghi?  Like the big, bright pictures. Wish could organize the MyFeast section in folders. We use NYTimes and ATKitchen so will explore this more but really need customizable folders.

### ***** "Well designed recipe app"
Six month free trial for Guardian subscribers. The filters allow specifying gluten and dairy free recipes and when both were set about half of the recipes were still available. The recipes themselves look good and the layout is nice and clear.  I also liked the UK to US translation popup that explains the different names for some ingredients. The free recipe app I was using before is getting more and more adverts so I’m going to delete it and switch to this.

The app is free. 

If you want to look at ANY recipe in the app it requires a subscription. 

I have been a big fan of the Guardian news app for years. Thought I would give this a try. 

Calling this FREE is completely misleading.
