Super buggy app
The app constantly logs you out. It randomly completely deletes your saved searches. It often displays reviews for different products than the page you’re on. Viewing photos of used gear is barely functional. They clearly do next to no testing before releasing app updates. If their developers actually used the app, they’d see how buggy it is.
Customer service and app are way subpar
Terrible customer service. No way to get an apology from their client services team. They just make customers feel awkward with requests, and their reps seem never to be empowered to help out with hands-on support. By the way cash rewards shouldn’t really expire. Also cash rewards should be easy and intuitive on their app. App feels very primitive and unintuitive.
Saved searches still broken.
The new version of this app is completely broken. Saved searches get completely lost, and the app says you have no saved searches. You have to log out and log back in for the saved searches to be restored….for a couple of hours maybe.
Still not Great
I didn’t like the app before and it’s not much better now. It forces you to login to be able to shop and then want you to login again to purchase anything. I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t keep up with the login to a store app.
It’s frustrating to have to go back and reset your password several times. It’s also very difficult to shop because it sends you back to the homepage very frequently
Broken
Latest release (as of April 12 2024) is pretty broken. The previous version of the app was fine. With the new version, saved searches don’t show new results, default sorting methods get lost, and the product reviews are totally wrong - as in, if you click to read the reviews for a something like a Fender Strat, you end up reading the reviews for some Roland product instead. At this point, the website is more useful than the app.
Reviews are broken
Many product reviews show the wrong reviews. For example check out the Martin Special 16. It shows jazzmaster reviews.
Spams sales notifications regardless of settings
If you enjoy never ending, uncontrollable notifications about discounts, sales, etc then you've come to the right place. If you don't want these junk notifications your only option is apparently to disable notifications for the entire app. I only have "saved searches" available and continue to receive constant notification spam about sales from this app.
The new app asks you to enable notifications on every launch
Been using the Guitar Center app for years. This latest 'revamp' asks you to enable notifications every time you launch the app. I DO NOT WANT NOTIFICATIONS.
Stop asking me for notifications
Nothing personal GC, I don’t allow notifications for any apps. I’m in meetings all day and they’d be distracting. If you keep asking me every time I open the app, I’m going to have to delete it.
Terrible Update 4/4/2024
How this new version made it out of beta boggles my mind. I get the impression they have no clue how their shoppers use their app. I was excited at first with the new phone app design but as I started browsing the app as I do multiple times a day. I quickly realized the change has been for the worse. Previously, a green indicator would appear when something new was added to items I was specifically searching for. This made it extremely easy to shop the site, and/or check out online or head to my nearest store to pick up said items. That is no longer the case. The only way you know now is to spend even more time digging around and even that doesn’t work correctly. Try sorting your searches by most recent, doesn’t work. Try putting in your zip code to shop local stores works half the time. And even when it does work, you now have to click on each store individually which takes forever. Please for the love of god fix the app!!!
