FAQ:
Q: Can I create or edit sheet music with this app?
A: Unlike Guitar Pro for Windows and Mac, this app does not let you change the notation in an existing Guitar Pro file, or create sheet music in standard notation. It is however possible to edit a single-track tablature with the NotePad tool and export your work into .gpx and .gp formats to finish your composition in Guitar Pro 6 or 7. Editing a drum track is not available with the NotePad tool.

Poor cousin of desktop app
Don’t buy if they haven’t updated it!
Hasn’t had any major feature updates for years.
Doesn’t allow fine tuning of speed (you can only do 50%, 60%, 70%) and no gradually increasing speed by 1% like the desktop app.
Sounds don’t play correctly at the slowest speeds.
Poor and limited editing compared to desktop app.
I contacted them a year ago about more granular speed etc and got a general “soon” message… still nothing to show for it.
Lazy developers
Come on guys, it wouldn’t be hard just do it and we’d all pay money! If you’re a song writer the note section doesn’t cut it, at all in fact. I wanna have duel guitars, bring in the bass and write the drums. This is just a reader and should be free. Shame on you
Disappointing support
Lack of updates is pretty poor for a
Premium price app - where’s the GP8 support?
Great app
Great app and really helpful only thing is, maybe I haven’t done something please let me know if this is the case, it would help if there was a cloud function that transfers all my stuff on mac to my phone
Disappointed
Guitar pro should create a proper full version with ability to write more complex music ideas. More and more people use iPads exclusively…
Needs GP8 audio support
I use the desktop version with a backing track all the time for practicing guitar, bass, drums and piano. There’s better software to write the non string instrument parts but I just love the audio sync. It’s been a while now that GP8 supports that feature but still not there for the iPad app. Is this coming any time soon?
This is a tab reader, could be more
This app is great for learning and practicing. You can easily change the speed, loop sections, and solo/mute tracks which makes is fantastic for learning a song, but it could be so much more.
When I first bought this app years ago I thought the NotePad was good for quickly jotting down small ideas but, with the power of mobile devices now, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to author in this app the same way you can on desktop. This is the next logical step.
So much potential
Perfect way to playback your sheets. Just wish it was a bit more capable, could be such a great tool in addition to the desktop app.
UI feels a bit outdated
Can’t write any notation
Soundbanks aren’t as good as desktop
Needs keyboard support
Not the piano kind but the typing kind! For an iPad app not to support a keyboard in 2023 is quite the anachronism.
I use my iPad like a laptop with Apple’s Magic Keyboard (which also has a trackpad)… but this app simply doesn’t recognise it, making the Notepad really awkward to use.
Please consider adding keyboard support as a feature.
Really annoying bug…
I can’t edit or move around the tab I’m working on after hitting the ‘back to start’ playback button until I exit and reopen the project…
