CoachTuner is a FREE chromatic instrument tuner that allows you to quickly tune your guitar, bass and ukulele using the built-in mic of your iPhone/iPad/iPod. CoachTuner can tune acoustic or electric guitar, bass, ukulele. It's easy to use for beginners and it's Free.

*** How to use CoachTuner ? ***
The open strings of a guitar from the thickest to thinest are as follows:

E – the thickest or lowest sounding string is known as the 6th string
A – is the 5th
D – is the 4th
G – is the 3rd
B – is the 2nd
E – the thinest or highest is the 1st

1) First, play your low E string (6th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "E" and "OK" must be displayed
2) Play your low A string (5th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "A" and "OK" must be displayed
3) Play your low D string (4th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "D" and "OK" must be displayed
4) Play your low G string (3th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "G" and "OK" must be displayed
5) Play your low B string (2th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "B" and "OK" must be displayed
6) Play your high E string (1th string), the arrow must be in the middle and the text "E" and "OK" must be displayed

The mechanics of tuning a guitar are simple. To adjust the pitch of a string, turn the string’s corresponding tuning key on the head of the guitar.

Are you now required to pay to use this app? Cause if so that is trash.

One of the worst tuners out there!

This app doesn’t even respond to inputs. The needle appears frozen to one spot most of the time. I wouldn’t recommend this app for free users. For free users they will also make you watch a 30sec or longer ad every time you choose an option. I don’t mind that since I’m not a paying customer but at least do what you’re supposed to! There are plenty free apps out there.

Makes me watch an ad or pay just to tune

Works great until they ask for money.

Used this out of convenience for years, now they’re asking for $30 a year? No thanks. I’ve got a $8 tuner from 2007 that works just as good if not better, the only reason I used this is because my phone is closer most of the time. If I downloaded it in 2016 they’re suggesting their app is worth $240 to me. It’s not. I MIGHT have paid .99 for it. That’s shoddy amp prices! It’s a free with ads type app and I uninstalled it the minute that changed. Greed is ruining society and the younger generations will never know how good we had it. Edit: they want to provide a “high quantity service” but a tuner app isn’t a service. That’s exactly the problem I wrote about to begin with! It’s an app that I use for 30 seconds. A service isn’t something that can be replaced (and outlasted) by a piece of cheap Chinese plastic. It’s outright greed and it’s disgusting.

Stay away if you value your life

This garbage app is going to burn away minutes of your life forcing ads on you. It used to work fine and be free. Now super long ads pop up if you don’t pay the exorbitant ransom.

absolutely trash

all the reviews from 6 years ago WERE true, but now you can’t even USE the tuner w/o a premium subscription or with ads. AND when you watch the ad the tuner doesn’t even WORK! so you close the app to try and refresh it, WHOOPS! gotta watch another ad for that! and what’d ya know it still doesn’t work. they’ve ruined this app.
