Pointless app
Search function is useless, full of crappy ads. Example, you search for a landcruiser and it ends up coming up with 15 thrashed out Hyundai iLoad workvans or something else that is completely irrelevant. Switching to private sales doesn’t help the situation either, so the app is a total waste of time, you can never find what you’re looking for.
Why is it asking me to verify my bank details
Why is Gumtree sending me messages to verify my bank details. In this world of scams this has never asked me this before. Not only that but I actually thought I had a buyer for my product then this verification came up. I have been buying and selling on this for years! I have been verified, I don’t need to verify my account with you because I generally do it with the buyer or seller as that is SAFE. Even as I write this I am still waiting for supposed support to get back to me whether this is a scam or not. Can you please remove this feature and maybe get people to validate normally. With a photo! Or everyone will love to other selling apps like face book market place.
App Glitches
Love the concept of Gumtree but the app has a few glitches that make it difficult to look through searches. Once you get to a certain point scrolling through searches results, it really slows down to an unusable speed. Also, while scrolling through results it jumps ahead about 10 listings - I think when ads are pushed into the results. Annoying. I end up just closing the app.
Notifications don’t vibrate.
The app is fine, but the notifications don’t vibrate on my phone or watch. I’ve missed people picking up items because of this. It’s super frustrating.
Don’t waste your time
This app is full of scammers, low ballers, time wasters, and stalkers. Don’t waste your time with Gumtree. Even the rating of 4.7 out of 5 is a scam. Try having a garage sale to sell your used goods or any other app but stay far away from here…
Cannot use anymore
Impossible to use. Freezes, glitches, search function is insane, nothing makes sense! How this app has a 4.7 star rating is truly baffling. My money is on bought reviews. I used to love using Gumtree for local purchases, it's completely unusable now. Deleting. EDIT: I was genuinely curious as to how this monstrosity of an app had such a high user rating, so I went and looked at the last few dozen 5 star ratings. They are all negative reviews, but have given 5 stars?? Incredibly dodgy.
A pile of Rubbish
Can’t read the text. Can’t refine a search by area or even see how to. What’s the point of this ridiculous rubbish app? The ads are another kick in the guts. What a bad experience. Hard fail. Take your one star and get out of here. Preempting the developer response. Don’t bother with your cookie-cutter reply. Get to work coding and fixing this pathetic app.

Heats my phone up extremely and causes it to freeze up. How is this app so labor intensive?
Hard to navigate through red tape
My first listing on Gumtree was deemed suspicious. I had to fill in credit card details which they wouldn’t accept. Was it a scam? Just trying to sell something for the first time. **BEWARE**
