## Gutenberg Project Description
【Premier Reader】: This app costs $6, and our users are paying for it each and every day. Why? It is the best Gutenberg Reader: beautiful images, elegant formatting, and graceful page turning. Contents live from Project Gutenberg with last-minute update, more than 60,000 most important books ever published in history. Plus more than 7,000 human-read audio books.

【Audio books】: There are more than 7,000 human-read audio books, all for the price of a cup of coffee. Alternatively you could pay $3-5 for a single audiobook as some of the "Audio app" would ask you to pay.

【Book recommendation】: Every app gives you a list of book recommendation, but where did they find the list? dreamed up in 'lala' land? We base our recommendation solidly on big data, tens of millions of pages actually read by our users. Downloading or page flipping has no effect on the ranking of our recommendation list.

【Number of Books】: No other apps have more Gutenberg books, and many competitors are missing some classic Gutenberg books, and many competitors use outdated data from Gutenberg.

【Reading】: Texts and images are presented by a sophisticated book reader: beautiful presentation, graceful page turning, and the most intelligent Table of Contents (better than any other book reader for the same book).

【Read-along】: Audio and Text are synchronized when possible. You can read, listen, or read-Along, and switch between them at will.

【Export】: Export a book together with bookmarks and the notes you inserted into the book to anyone and any device, or save it i the cloud (google drive, one drive, or iCloud).

* The PAID version "Gutenberg Books" allows unlimited reading and listening.

## Gutenberg Project Reviews in United States

### **--- "504 bad gateway errors"
When I search and attempt to download books I get 504 gateway error. App not working for me at all.
-- rippa!, 2026-01-15

### ***-- "Navigation"
Navigation to different sections of the app is awful. Closing a book and getting to the bookshelf is clumsy. Amgoodmideambut poorly executed
-- dddddeeddddddd, 2026-01-07

### **--- "Gutenberg app"
How do u cancel service
-- Disappointed totally 666, 2024-07-11

### **--- "Read-A-Long nearly impossible to see… Useless Eye Strain"
Yellow on Orange? It looks good in the screenshot but in real life it’s nearly impossible to see and follow along with.

All those color combinations do is slowly make you go blind.

I would consider paying for it if the paid version let me choose my favorite colors. To me what really pops is basic white on a basic blue background. Those color combinations are really good for cutting through background glare from lighting.

How about it? A paid premium version where we could choose our own color combinations? Face it some people just like dark modes. It’s a good bit less of a battery drain overall. All the blue light before bedtime they say keeps us from getting a good nights sleep.
-- John Goodin, 2023-06-22

### **--- "white on black"
i can find no way to make it black on white
-- The_Dodger, 2023-04-29

### ****- "Gutenberg Reader"
Nice app for readers but irritating to have so many ads that inhibits a steady and consistent read. Would be better to have a continuous ad at the bottom or top of the page than to have a full page ad that comes on several times in one minute and blocks off your ability to continuously read the material in the book. Bad setup app
-- salty dag, 2023-02-24

### *---- "Who IS the idiot"
They got rid of the useless black
background in the search box ( with black script) but now it won’t search at all most attempts .

Is a favorite app going to go the way
of FREEBOOKS ? Time and tell .
-- Steve7135, 2021-05-03

### **--- "What happened?"
This used be to a decent app. But now search doesn’t find anything but error 404. But on the website it finds what I’m looking for? Needs to be fixed!
-- Tamsharley, 2020-08-27

### *---- "Der Untertan"
Author Heinrich Mann
Outrages app interruptions from Facebook!
No star - should be a rating option.
Inge
-- Moylo's, 2020-05-19

### *---- "STOP WORKING"
Have used for years with great pleasure. This morning it stopped working: will not load catalog, and close when attempt to open current book being read. Attempted to reinstall with no change.
