Delays

🧱ED on

United States

I want to preface this by saying that this is one of my most used apps. Thank you for making it, releasing it for free, AND not including any tracking bits. However, recently I’ve noticed an increased delay in loading times when selecting “Open HN link” . Not sure if it’s the app, the recent phone update that coincided with the delay, or something on HN’s end. It goes away if I try to reopen the same link moments later. Thanks again for the awesome app.

The best reader among all! Enjoy it every day!

My *new* “Apollo”

Been using this reader for HN ever since Reddit’s API pricing ripoff for small devs. It’s sleek, responsive, minimal, and intuitive. Wishlist: HN account login for comments, upvoting, and saving posts.

No frills, just works (TM)

Simple yet effective app! Probably the best interface for HN.

Best I’ve seen

I like that it defaults to the site, not the comments. And has no extra crap during the share text. And no Pro version junk

Can add a feature of focus the words in comments?

tyWhisky on

United States

Hello, the app is awesome. But I need a feature of focus the words in comments so that I can translate by Apple dictionary. Because I am learning English, often find some words which I don’t understand. This feature maybe very helpful for the people like me and I think it will not be difficulty(I am a develop, too, but for web) Thank you !

Much needed!

Interface looks clean and smooth. Safari reader mode option is nice.

Almost perfect

Ampersando on

I tried a couple of hacker news apps and this is the one I settled on. The interface is simple, there’s no paid features or subscription, and the interface is customizable to your liking. There’s even a built im bookmarks feature I don’t use. The only thing I would like to see is to dim posts that have been clicked on
