You can select the word in alphabetical order (English meanings) by clicking “words” in the menu bar. Basic everyday Hakka words!

There are no retroflex consonants in the Hakka language, like sh,tch. The southern Chinese dialects (Cantonese, Hokkien, Wu and Hakka) they all don’t have these consonants.
Over 45 million people speak Hakka Chinese natively throughout southern China, Taiwan and overseas. It is primarily spoken at home or between close friends. They speak the Common Chinese (Mandarin) when at school or doing business.

客家語，俗稱客家話，簡稱客語或客話，是漢藏語系漢語族的一種語言，為客家民系的母語。其母語人口分佈於廣東東北部、江西南部和福建西部，即傳統的客家地區；台灣分佈於桃竹苗、六堆和花東縱谷等地；東南亞尤其是馬來西亞亦有不少母語人口。截至2007年為止全球以客家語為母語的人數大約有4400萬人。
