*** I try to implement just about every request I receive and fix just about every complaint I receive or see in the reviews. If you leave a complaint in a review please leave your callsign so I can get in touch with you to fix your problem, or email me directly. I cannot reply to reviews.
Please NOTE: This application is not meant to replace a more formal method of logging such as a computer based logging application or the classic paper method. It is more for quick logging while portable or mobile. Personally, I transfer all contacts to paper after coming back from field QRP fun.
Regarding IMPORTING: As of December 8, 2010, HamLog support importing ADIF files. Please visit http://n3wg.com/hamlog for an example of how to import.
I will happily respond to feedback, entertain feature requests, and answer questions directly, please contact me at the email address listed on n3wg.com or QRZ.

Field Day Logging Info:
Sections logged include: Date/time,Mode, Band, Callsign, Class, Section, Operator, Comment
Exporting: Exporting logs from the Field Day tool is via e-mail in the form of a CSV file that any spreadsheet program can open.
Dup Detection: The app does the standard dup detection you would see in a PC/Mac based app. There is no inter-device dup detection. Dup detection between devices is an exercise left to the exported spreadsheet application of choice.
iPad Specifics: Sections worked are shown vs sections not worked for each zone.
NOTE: While I try my best to ensure this Field Day logger is fault tolerant, I can make no guarantees or warranties. Please test and become familiar with it before using it live during Field Day.

HamLog Reviews

GMT+9 does not work!

powerunixer on

South Korea

My time zone is GMT+9. Local time setting does not work and I can't customize time setting. For instance, I touch "set" button, select specific time and then touch another "set" button. But Hamlog inserts wrong time that it is GMT-9. Please fix it ASAP.

Call sign search will not work

Call sign search feature when adding new contact , and also under tools, does not function

More than I expected.

Not only logs but also includes a bunch of useful tools. No fluffy interface. Just works. Thanks!

Broken since iOS 17.1

Formatting and layout in many views have been been broken since the update to iOS 17.1 and no one has responded to email bug reports.

Too many usability issues and bugs

Kevintechie on

United States

Might be ok for simple logging but not good for SOTA and probably POTA too. The custom templates for these activities don’t work with a phone in dark mode. The font and the background are both black so you can’t read your input. Also there doesn’t appear to be a way to delete a custom log so now I have several useless test logs. Finally, I can cause the app to crash constantly by trying to delete the 0th log entry.

Server Down

KenF0 on

Some of the tools functionally seems to depend on a server, which is down. If this is temporary I will update the review.

It’s good. Will not create CABRILLO file.

Mr. SnC on

Hello, I keep hoping that an upgrade ill come along that lets the app create CABRILLO files. That seems to be any contest that I am in wants. They don’t accept ADIF files anymore and trying to make a Cabrillo format file drives me crazy. Please create the ability to make and export Cabrillo files. I cannot use this app until it does. 73, Steve

Doesn’t work for POTA

KF0ATX on

United States

I wanted this app to work for me. I really liked the functionality of the app but when I tried to upload the log to Parks on the Air it got rejected. The ADIF file does not include the Band field which is required by POTA. This makes it unusable for me.

Hamlog Excellent

I use Hamlog for all my portable work. It lets you set up your own fields which is great for operations like POTA. Lots of extras!

Right support?

kidmanner on

United States

I understand that this is a less than a US dollar app. However, they never responded to my request for support. In an iPad, error of connection to QRZ.com (and yes, I am subscribed) it shows up every time I try to open the log and try to log a contact. So, this app works just as a glorified spread sheet without the data base capabilities of it. Sorry, I don’t see the point. Moving on ... one US Dollar less!
