*** I try to implement just about every request I receive and fix just about every complaint I receive or see in the reviews. If you leave a complaint in a review please leave your callsign so I can get in touch with you to fix your problem, or email me directly. I cannot reply to reviews.
Please NOTE: This application is not meant to replace a more formal method of logging such as a computer based logging application or the classic paper method. It is more for quick logging while portable or mobile. Personally, I transfer all contacts to paper after coming back from field QRP fun.
Regarding IMPORTING: As of December 8, 2010, HamLog support importing ADIF files. Please visit http://n3wg.com/hamlog for an example of how to import.
I will happily respond to feedback, entertain feature requests, and answer questions directly, please contact me at the email address listed on n3wg.com or QRZ.

Field Day Logging Info:
Sections logged include: Date/time,Mode, Band, Callsign, Class, Section, Operator, Comment
Exporting: Exporting logs from the Field Day tool is via e-mail in the form of a CSV file that any spreadsheet program can open.
Dup Detection: The app does the standard dup detection you would see in a PC/Mac based app. There is no inter-device dup detection. Dup detection between devices is an exercise left to the exported spreadsheet application of choice.
iPad Specifics: Sections worked are shown vs sections not worked for each zone.
NOTE: While I try my best to ensure this Field Day logger is fault tolerant, I can make no guarantees or warranties. Please test and become familiar with it before using it live during Field Day.

HamLog Reviews

Great App

This app just fits the bill when it comes to logging away from home. It has a lot of features, including QRZ lookup. I gave it five stars and that’s before you think about it’s value for money.

Great for portable operation

This Log program has everything you would need for logging calls portable or even as your main log program. QRZ lookup, importing and exporting to other logging programs. Very fast quick logging in a pileup. Loads of tools ... Dx Cluster, Grid Sq lookup and much more.

Simple logger with useful tools

I saw the review mentioning problems with the times in the log entries. I don’t get this problem and so maybe the issue is now fixed. The default time on an entry is UTC and it isn’t changed when editing. There is a minor formatting bug with the Grid to Map tool but otherwise this seems a solid app. There are four improvements I would like: 1. Allow the user to define the values shown in the log list. 2. Allow the user to specify single row log list entries. 3. Increase the size of the Notes field when entering/editing log entries. 4. Include contest features such a la qrz.com log entries. Good app!

Great for real time logging: useless for offline logging

I use this a lot when I am operating /P on holiday. Provided I am logging live, then it works great. However, I also operate a lot from hill tops and other locations where it makes sense to log on paper. Ideally, I’d like to then be able to transfer the log records from paper into HamLog. Unfortunately, this is such a pain, I use something else instead. The problem is that the On Time always defaults to now in the local TZ. I always log on paper in GMT (as should everybody else). So, you have to manually change the On time and remember to add/subtract the number of hours difference from GMT. On top of that madness, if you go back in and make a change to a log entry, HamLog silently sets the On Time back to Now.

Limited functionality with very little user customisation. Would be good to add filters etc. The tools page has loads of useful shortcuts BUT too many so the user is confused by choice, would be good to turn off some, amend or add new shortcuts Wouldn't recommend it, there are better logs on the market Developer doesn't allow trial period which means he knows not many people would actually buy the SW. Great, use it all the time on holidays

The app is a little confusing at first, but I wouldn't be without it now. Running it on my little iPhone SE requires nimble fingers, but it's excellent and just the job to keep a proper log, rather than a messy paper one. I especially like the lookup feature. I have no issues running "live logging" on CW without scraps of paper, it shows how good the app is. The automatic start and end times are great too, as is the ability to keep unsaved entries if you accidentally exit... I email myself a copy of the log in ADIF (2 or 3 clicks to do), then import the ADIF into my main desktop log when next at home.

Date format

This app would be much more useful to those of us in Europe if there is an option to display the log in dd,mm,yy format.

Excellent!

This log is a must have for any tablet user. I use it portable when activating WAB squares and GFF's. It's quick, simple to use and has many useful extras. I've also found it more beneficial in the shack, no computer fan noise and none of those unwanted noises associated with PC's. Well done!
