## Hammock Description
Hammock is the accounting platform for landlords. We provide automated bookkeeping, tax statement services and business insights for rental properties. Hammock is the first landlord software compatible with Making Tax Digital (MTD).

It's 2026 and landlords are still managing their rental income and expenses with spreadsheets and paper notes. They end up wasting time and chasing deadlines, instead of focusing on growing their business. Hammock is changing this.

Rent collection monitoring: notifications for all payments received, and alerts for any missing/late ones;

Property tax statements: your rental income and expenses are always up-to-date, ready to share with your accountant or for your reference, if you file your own taxes;

Property business insights: keep track of the performance of your investment. Gain 24/7 access to your Loan-To-Value ratios, rental yields, arrears, and all the main metrics to track your rental properties;

Reminders: set expiry dates on compliance documents (insurance, gas certificate, EICR) and we'll let you know when it's time to take action. No more missed deadlines.

But isn’t yet…

The web interface for Hammock is really good, but the iOS App not so much.

The thing I would use most is transaction tracking and management, and maybe it’s OK, but it’s a bit buggy.

Only shows most recent 10 transactions, although search seems to work.

Doesn’t filter untracked vs tracked transactions reliably. (Doesn’t seem to update after saving.)

When selecting a property to attach to a transaction, it doesn’t update after selecting. (But after save you it did attach.)

Haven’t yet tried uploading a transaction after e.g. buying something in the moment. Which is probably the most relevant feature.

Also, every time I log on it reminds me to enable notifications. I don’t want to. Worse - it reminds me multiple times - I have to click cancel multiple times.

Will try again later after they give it more attention.

Download app, opened it, straight to login page, saying “welcome back”. No link to register for first time users and the forgotten password option will only send you an email if you’re already registered. Is this a joke? Poor poor poor.

Beginning to use hammock. Annoying that you can’t view PDF in the app. This is kinda the whole point of the app. To have docs available.

At the time of writing, this app feels more like a static snapshot of the website rather than a functional alternative. Several key features are either broken or unreliable, making it hard to use for anything meaningful.
	•	Adding transactions is technically possible, but the date input is guesswork, and the app often crashes during the process.
	•	Tax statements consistently crash when any filters are applied.
	•	Field labels are inconsistent—for example, what’s called “Taxable expenses” in the app appears as “Allowable expenses” on the website. These discrepancies make navigation and understanding more difficult than it should be.

For now, you’re better off using the web version. The app just isn’t ready

I tried for a year and it started okay. Then came unresolved transactions, duplicate entries on bank feeds etc. Good idea overall but needs more work to be of any help to a busy landlord. For now it adds complexity to property management.

Honestly, loved the App, easy to keep tabs on all my properties, bank feeds were fab and I could track and categorise income and expenses.

Then came the app update. Now it no longer remembers your login details nor uses face recognition to login. Wants me to create a 5 digit PIN code which after creating then doesn’t fails to recognise it so asks for it again. Login now take you to Hammocks website which doesn’t remember passwords so you’ve got to enter your username and password everytime you want to use the app and switching between App and a bank (that isn’t on an auto-feed) closes the app and you’ve got to start all over again. Then the notifications, randomly started sending me emails and notifications all the time despite notifications turned off and they weren’t even relevant.

### ***-- "Can’t connect metro account"
Like the idea, but it doesn’t support metro bank when I try to connect it to my bank account. 
Also on the mobile app (iPhone) the date toggles are in black so you can’t actually see the numbers/months to pick them. Tried to enter my card details to subscribe but it didn’t send auth request to my bank so couldn’t approve. Will persevere on the free trial but so far a few features not working as expected.
