Hands2Paws

Description

You’re here to find which breed is right for you or an available rescue dog that’s the perfect fit. Your search can involve testing different breeds of dogs, including puppies and adult pets. It’ll also mean checking up on your local shelters online because not every shelter has a pet database like ours does. Please keep in mind: If it sounds too good-to be true…it probably IS! We’re confident we have more resources than any other breeder out there looking just as hard to bring loving homes while making sure everything’s covered—from our care packages to puppy training schedules – so no matter what kind of family needs are missing from this wonderful site, they will receive all the love possible within these few simple steps.

Hands2Paws Reviews

Easy to use

We were surprised with our matches, a few were dogs we liked and a few we never saw before. Thank you for helping us with this decision.

When entering criteria for no shedding small dog, I was quite surprised to see a Bernese Mountain dog and other large dogs in the results. I had to make stuff up to see what it would do because my real criteria said no matches, and I know this isn’t true based on my own research.

Love this app!

I have very few apps on my phone but I adore dogs and learn as much about them as I possibly can. I have a pup now, but some day the time will come to adopt another one and I am doing research instead of just picking the sweetest baby at the shelter on the day I visit! This app is teaching me a ton and I recommend it highly!

Love it!

This app has so much information in one place and is so easy to use! Highly recommend!

Wonderful idea!

Absolutely love the idea behind this app. Far too often people pick a dog that isn’t entirely right for them based on just how the dog looks etc. A questionnaire could definitely help narrow down breeds. When I tried finding a rescue breed it only resulted in two searches, a little disappointing but perhaps this was all that was near me that matched my criteria. My next search was for a purebred dog. I ticked off that I wanted hypoallergenic and minimal shedding but it seemed to pull up both really hairy breeds and dogs with very short coats that would shed a lot. I think with a little fine tuning this app could be a life saver! The dogs did match some of my other criteria however. I think this app could benefit from asking the user what criteria is most important to them (ie if non shedding was important than it could pull up such breeds first and foremost) or even to narrow down the breeds in the search.

Very insightful

Extremely helpful and educational on dog type for a fit for my household. Sometimes we get caught up in what we want and aren’t aware of what we need in a pet. This app helped me to work through that process with a breeze.

I’m all for adoption-this app directed me to several rescue options with mix breeds that fit my lifestyle

Waste of time.

Not accurate in my point of view.

Love this App!

I was curious to see what type of dog would match my personality. Once I completed the set of questions the app promptly showed me various matches. And I must say I agreed! I like that I can do multiple searches with different answers. It is a great tool to be able to research the best dog that fits my lifestyle. I decided on a Boston Terrier and have already spoken to the recommended breaded in my area. Bravo!

Good idea, but didn’t work right

I said small dog, and while it recommend a few small dogs, it also recommended large dogs, including a Cane Corso! When I asked for a rescue dog, it didn’t come up with any recommendations. Also, the grooming question confused me: occasional (once or twice a month), minimal (some dogs require special hair cuts), or frequent (I love brushing and combing). To me, “minimal” should be the least amount, and “occasional” would be slightly more, but based on the descriptions, it sounds like the opposite. Also, IMO a dog that needs a special haircut (presumably from a groomer) is high maintenance, not minimal. I gave this app 2 stars because it does link you to the website of breed clubs where you can get info on temperament and health concerns, plus they have a directory of breeders that meet the breed club’s standards.
