Thank you to the developers for creating such a high quality free app.  The campaign is great.  The audio recordings are top notch.  The details page is very good.  It has just the right amount of information.  I really like how you can do guided and free characters and switch back and forth freely.  I like to do both on each writing card.  The only problem I have with the app is that the pictures are all AI.  There’s an option to turn the images off which is awesome, but it doesn’t negate the ethical issues with using generative AI.  I understand why the developer used AI, but I will keep them toggled off.

This app is incredible! Its user interface is easy to navigate, the illustrations are gorgeous, and each character comes with mnemonic support. The memory aids are clever and the descriptions of the characters and their historical development is rich and fascinating. I cannot recommend this program enough if you are struggling to learn Chinese characters through rote memorization. Try this instead:)

This app provides an efficient, rational and enjoyable way to learn characters, primitive components and vocabulary, while also tracking your progress in relation to the material covered by HSK exams. For me, this is the best method I’ve tried. I’m grateful to the developers for turning their own experience with the language into such a useful resource for other learners.
