I have used HL for well over 15 years and they have been and continue to provide a Premium Platform for my International Trading requirements. Their App is exemplary as is their  customer Service response. I cannot recommend this organisation highly enough.

I like how easy it is to see the details of accounts. However, I’ve found myself unable to send a message or add funds to an ISA using the app recently. Instead I had to go back to the web portal to add funds which worked fine.

The markets feature for an entire year now just crashes the app every time you try to view it. None of the details in companies you view ever loads, it just says “data not available” for everything. You can’t view the history of your own stocks or shares purchased - simple details like when you purchased it, how much in fees you’ve paid, the gain or loss over time. The app is totally useless, no point. Just use their desktop online login, because even that doesn’t work on mobile. Outdated company running outdated operations.

This app would be ok if it didn’t log you out every 5 mins and then force you to log back in using the most complex set of passwords available to man.
They stupidly think people can be bothered, they can’t.
They would actually make money from this crappy app if they made it available to use.

I trust HL and they are reliable but the App is tired and getting in and out of shares takes too long or at least within the context of an ISA it seems to. There are better and cheaper options. If the App was vastly improved e.g. decent charts and the speed resolved I would happily recommend.

The HL app used to have lots of useful features: moving averages, percentage price charts. It’s been stripped down to the most basic functionality. For the largest investment company in the UK, it’s not impressive. With all the new technology and web 3 apps out there, HL neeeds to step up.

Good app which I have had for years and will never change. However the price per trade is far too expensive. I have transferred a large amount of stock from HL to ii who have just changed their pricing structure. HL should consider a single competitive trading fee.  Too expensive. 

Also , IG and ii show your average share price cost alongside each stock.  This is a fantastic feature and can’t believe HL don’t have something similar. HL just show the average value in pounds but by share price is far more useful.

I downloaded this App a couple of months ago and it works perfectly.  I can now trade easily on the move whereas before I would use my desktop PC but only when I remembered.  The App has made trading a lot more convenient for me.
