Like many others have expressed their opinion, I too agree the current App is just awful. Clunky, and possibly over engineered. The old version wasn’t great but it was navigable and had purpose. The sort function on the app and website has a mind of its own and takes an age to refresh. ‘Live prices’ take many seconds to refresh. 
My investments are mainly stocks and ETFs. I use HL every day to check my portfolio and make trades.
HL team, you are alienating many long term clients.

New version of the app is a massive downgrade, you can no longer deal directly from the portfolio listing, you cannot see live prices for both bid and ask, you have to click many more times to do the same task, it’s utterly rubbish! I don’t know what happened or if the team changed at HL but bring back the ‘classic’ style or at least the option to toggle it until these glaringly obvious problems are fixed! Did you do any beta at all??

I’m pretty tech-savvy, I’ve been using IT all my life. But I am really struggling to get to grips with this updated mobile app.
It’s unbelievably user-unfriendly compared to its previous iteration. It takes many more clicks and dead ends to find what I need. Previously simple operations, such as instant trading, are now hidden behind 5 or 6 pages, and nothing is intuitive any more. You’d usually hope so called improvements would be better than what went before. This is not. I wouldn’t have updated if I’d known.

With each release, they may be adding new features, but the basics are awful. The worst thing at the moment is the app timeout. It’s shockingly bad and does not detect that you are actually doing something. For example reading a report or even typing a message to them in the secure message section. It also only seems to give you 2 chances to extend the time before it just then decides to kick you out without further warning. You really must do better!
Also, the fees are way too high, especially if you have a significant pot.

I really think there are some elements of this app that have not been thought through fully. Used to be able to see the market price, now you have to dig in further. Another, irritating thing, often when I open the app up it will do Face ID and show my account. I do not want it to do this when it chooses to, only when I ask to log in. Sometimes I may want to use app features without logging in to my account. That’s just a couple of examples. Hopefully this will be updated further in the near future.

The last iteration of the HL app was ideal. Live price able to be shown on the main page of an account, with date shown for funds so you could tell when they had been updated. New version seems to have removed these very useful features and now you have to click through individual holdings to find the details. Solid step backward for those who want to actually look at the details of their investments on a regular basis.

Please just admit you made a mistake and roll the app back to the old version which was far superior. I’ve stopped paying new money into my ISA & SIPP, I’m paying it into my new Trading 212 account, all because of this new App (well done developers, have a sarcastic slow hand clap). I can’t buy certain investments with 212 but at least I can use the App.

Why do developers keep doing this?
I can only assume that they do it purely to p**s people off!

The new layouts are so bland and lacklustre it is hard to find what you are looking for as it all looks the same.  It was clear before and previously with a swipe I could see the history of each investment seamlessly (highest/lowest purchase price/weighted average/ gains/loss and income). The detailed info swipe was a great feature- it’s gone now :( Instead the new update doesn’t have this and I have to scroll down the relevant investment to find the history and select it before I can see the info I want- it’s just all so clunky and bland now.
