## Harry's LapTimer Petrolhead Description
Harry's LapTimer is the advanced tool for car enthusiast. It records all types of sensor data provided by your iPhone/iPod/iPad (or external sensors), combines them, and makes them available to optimize your drive. Over time, you will get insights on your car and in your driving, not known before.

LapTimer offers more than 1300 predefined tracks world wide. With its assistants, it is extremely easy to setup - just click your track and drive. It fully automates your lap timing using GPS, and presents the results to all kinds of media.

You are not limited to track driving only. For example, you may define your home and working locations as a 'track', collect statistics on different ways chosen, and analyze / optimize the time used every day. 

Want to show your drive to your friends? LapTimer Petrolhead and above generates beautiful in car video recordings with all kinds of data overlaid, ready to be presented - e.g. on youtube. Even without video, recorded data can be analyzed using purpose designed views, making it easy to analyze and improve your driving performance.

Using online racing, you can use LapTimer in competition. LapTimer offers a Hall of Fame, allows watching you and your friends on track - all in real time. Compare your sector times, braking / acceleration points, and learn from each other. 

You can start with your plain iPhone in the beginning and add external GPS and OBD II sensors later, step by step, and as you need it. LapTimer itself comes in three different editions: LapTimer Rookie is the entry level with all you need for lap timing; LapTimer Petrolhead is the advanced version including lots of video features, and LapTimer Grand Prix is the edition for professionals including Multi Cam recording, Health Kit integration, and advanced sensor and analytics functionality.

Une super application pour la piste, usage sur circuit. Toutes les données enregistrables, avec une très bonne précision.
Un peu fouilli a préparer au début, mais après ça va très bien. Donne de superbe vidéos, à prévoir un câble USB pour la charge du tel en même temps sur allume cigare.
Conclusion: très très bien, vous ne serez pas déçu !

Je l'utilise sur circuit et sur une moto. L'application bien qu'un peu fouillis est simple d'utilisation et très précise avec le GPS de l'iPhone ( comparée avec un transpondeur).  Intermédiaires, vitesse de pointe, courbes de vitesse, d'accélération , etc, export (un peu laborieux) pour traiter les données dans un autre logiciel. Bref, très complet

Si vous faites de la piste c'est l'app à installer sur votre iPhone. 
Une richesse fonctionnelle incroyable, filmez vos tours, incrustez les données, exploitez les statistiques...
En plus le support est dispo et efficace.
Le prix est plus que raisonnable par rapport aux autres soucions du marché (les solutions dédiées coûtent 3 ou 400 €)

Depuis la dernière mise à jour, je ne trouve plus les vidéos enregistrée qui avant étaient stockée dans 'photos', j'ai un 3GS...merci

C'est une super appli. Bien sur cela ne sera jamais aussi précis qu'un alfano, mais ça ne coute pas le même prix.
Je n'ai pas encore testé si la vidéo se fait bien maintenant en continu, et si cela est bien le cas, alors c'est génial. Ca cela était parfois bien énervant de voir une belle séquence tout à coup s'arrêter sur la ligne droite, at the end of the lap.

Une seule remarque :
Pour la vidéo, ma route est filmée en Gopro. J'utilise l'iphone et  HLPro, en filmant de face mon passager. 
Problème, l'image et les forces G sont inversées. Il faudrait une fonction 'FLiP' avant l'overlaying vidéo.

@Harry : I use laptimer with facial video mode (of my passenger). Due to this mounting, video & G forces are inverted. Can you add a property for this case of mount ?

Cette appui est vraiment fantastique. Il ne manque qu'une chose : une visualisation du chronomètre en grand, car lorsque l'on passe à plus de 200 devant la ligne des stands, on n'a pas le temps de lire..; ou bien une synthèse vocale pour dicter le dernier chrono.

Mes circuits y sont. Ceux qui n'y sont pas encore peuvent être créés en deux minutes. La video et l'overlay avec les données marche super. Aucun bug sur mon iPhone 4s !
