## Harry's LapTimer Petrolhead Description
Harry's LapTimer is the advanced tool for car enthusiast. It records all types of sensor data provided by your iPhone/iPod/iPad (or external sensors), combines them, and makes them available to optimize your drive. Over time, you will get insights on your car and in your driving, not known before.

LapTimer offers more than 1300 predefined tracks world wide. With its assistants, it is extremely easy to setup - just click your track and drive. It fully automates your lap timing using GPS, and presents the results to all kinds of media.

You are not limited to track driving only. For example, you may define your home and working locations as a 'track', collect statistics on different ways chosen, and analyze / optimize the time used every day. 

Want to show your drive to your friends? LapTimer Petrolhead and above generates beautiful in car video recordings with all kinds of data overlaid, ready to be presented - e.g. on youtube. Even without video, recorded data can be analyzed using purpose designed views, making it easy to analyze and improve your driving performance.

Using online racing, you can use LapTimer in competition. LapTimer offers a Hall of Fame, allows watching you and your friends on track - all in real time. Compare your sector times, braking / acceleration points, and learn from each other. 

You can start with your plain iPhone in the beginning and add external GPS and OBD II sensors later, step by step, and as you need it. LapTimer itself comes in three different editions: LapTimer Rookie is the entry level with all you need for lap timing; LapTimer Petrolhead is the advanced version including lots of video features, and LapTimer Grand Prix is the edition for professionals including Multi Cam recording, Health Kit integration, and advanced sensor and analytics functionality.

Ich habe die App schon seit Jahren in Benutzung. Habe sie früher zur Rundenzeiterfassung beim Moto Cross benutzt, dann beim Speedway und jetzt beim Flattrack fahren. Einfach Start-Ziellinie auf neuem Track setzen, Namen vergeben und ab gehts. Verwende ein altes IPhone mit Quadlock Halter >>> funktioniert perfekt und hält wunderbar.

### ****- "Super APP (Autofokus Probleme)"
Vor Jahren hätte man so eine Anwendung auf einem "Telefon" für unmöglich gehalten. Als immerdabei Möglichkeit einen Trackday zu dokumentieren und die eigene Fahrweise zu analysieren  ist der Lap Timer super. Ich nutze jetzt noch den Kiwi Wifi ODB um Gasstellung, Gang und Drehzahl einzuspeisen. Funktioniert nicht bei allen Automodellen fehlerfrei.
Leider ist das alles aber sehr umständlich aufzusezten und zu Bedienen. Wer einmal in einem Rennauto mit Helm und Handschuhen gesessen hat kann das nachvollzeien. Insbesondere sind sehr viele Runden unscharf durch das "pumpen" des Autofokus.  Geht auch ganz schlecht auf unendlich zu stellen, wenn ihr vor einer Wand steht. Aber auch dann wenn das sauber konfiguriert wurde verstellt sich der Fokus immer wieder. Besser wäre konstand unendlich. Wenn hier noch Nachbesserung erfolgt, gibt es 5 Sterne.

Die Abstürze in iOS8.1 liegen höchstwahrscheinlich an einem Problem in Ihrer iOS Photobibliothek. LapTimer wird den Fehler ab dem nächsten Update abfangen um auch damit umzugehen. Bei Problemen bitte lieber an der Supportadresse melden, Rezensionen sind ein denkbar schlechter Kanal um zu helfen :-)

This app is a disaster! For almost 20£ it should be perfect- instead it crashes the whole time and refuses to save video.

I'm furious- I bought this app for a one off track day at Spa-Francorchamps and although the app confirmed it had saved the lap each time I passed the start finish line, when I came to review the video later on, there was just a big, fat "NO" where the footage should be. Not a single bit of video from the whole day!

The help file claims the video has synchronized itself to somewhere else or been deleted, neither of which I have done.

I wish I'd stuck with CMS Lap Timer; it's better, simpler, more reliable and much more fairly priced than Harry's Lap Timer.

Wieder mal vielen Dank, für das Update. 

Es ist die beste App zum loggen der Runden- oder WP-Zeit inkl. Auswertungsmöglichkeit im Anschluss. Ebenfalls bietet die App einen Video-Modus mit Overlayfunktion. Alles funktioniert Tadellos und bei Problemen ist der Entwickler sehr hilfsbereit.

Tolle Funktionalität und Zuverlässigkeit. Nach kurzer Eingewöhnungszeit erschließen sich einem auch die umfangreichen Analysemöglichkeiten. Mit entsprechender Halterung (bei mir TomTom) werden bei mir mit einem iPod sehr Ergebnisse erzielt - sowohl in Hinsicht der Videoqualität als auch beim Datenoverlay. Der Support ist zudem hervorragend. Von einem Racer für Racer (die keine TEUR 2 für eine vBox ausgeben wollen) gemacht! Danke Harald!
