Updated December 2024: Possibly an iOS issue. My old phone can’t update beyond v15 and app still works fine. Decided to create an account, thinking this might be the problem. But, no. Can only set a radius of 50km from a given point, resulting in a patchwork of multiple 50km watch zones from Sydney to just over the Victorian border. Push notifications set but a fire within one 50km watch zone was not notified. And so on. By contrast, VICEmergency allows a 100km radius and includes helpful extras like “dangerous animal” - alerting me to the presence of a dangerous animal in a local river (bull shark) 12 hours away!! For all the money that was donated after the terrible fires in 2019/20, you’d think they could afford a better app. I recently updated my phone and various apps. I have repeatedly re-set the watch zone and received various alerts, only to received a repeated “server error” when I try to check. The watch zones also disappear. Do users need to create a login for the app to function correctly? This needs to be rectified ASAP.
