## Heart Buddy Description
Heart Buddy continuously monitors the heart rate and raises an alarm when it detects a low or high heart rate. This could be indicative of a seizure, a problem with a pacemaker, or other heart problems.

Heart Buddy is totally free: no subscriptions, no adverts, complete access to all advanced features. Heart Buddy is already helping people and it can help you too.

• Continuous, realtime monitoring of the heart rate throughout the whole night, the day and wherever you go.

• Customise Heart Buddy's alarms: including those for high/low heart rates; low battery; signal loss; and more.

• Heart rates displayed on charts and updated as each heart rate is collected from the sensor.

• Heart Buddy be remotely controlled by a second Apple device over the Wi-Fi network to overcome the 10 metre limitation imposed by Bluetooth.

• Heart rates saved on the device and optionally in the cloud.

• Review heart rate charts from those saved in your history to spot patterns and gain valuable insight to heart rate behaviour.

• Share heart charts to your other devices, family, or email them to healthcare professionals.

• The Heart Zones feature keeps you informed of heart rate changes without even needing to look at the app.

• Optionally connect your phone/iPad to a bluetooth speaker to allow alarms to be heard remotely, elsewhere in the home.

COMPATIBLE HEART RATE SENSOR:
• Heart Buddy requires an external sensor to operate, such as: the Wahoo TickR Fit; Polar Heart Sensor; or any low-energy bluetooth (BTLE) heart rate sensor.

• The battery life for the Wahoo Tickr Fit sensor is up to 30 hours which means Heart Buddy can monitor the heart rate overnight without interruption.

• FitBit devices do not provide a continuous heart rate and are not suitable for monitoring the heart rate in real time.

## Heart Buddy Reviews in United States

### ***** "The best heart monitoring app on iOS!"
It’s a great app for heart rate tracking. I love the alarm feature and alerts even work when your phone is turned off unlike so many other heart monitor apps on the App Store. Many other apps won’t even allow for alerts. This is definitely a superior app!
-- Quinn Nichols, 2025-11-11

### ****- "I like it so far!"
It seems like a simple and great app that’s also practical for everyday use, I’ve downloaded a bunch of apps already and none seem to work for me so I’m hoping that this one does! It seems to be working really well but it’s having trouble connecting to my Apple Watch.
-- BurberryDeonuu, 2025-11-10

### ***-- "Henry"
Would be a good app if did not interrupt music stream. Incompatible with multitasking. A buddy for a heart, not a person.
-- Thousands of games later, 2025-04-13

### *---- "update pls"
can you make an update so it can connect to any watch
-- ccrryl, 2025-02-23

### ***** "Good"
Good app, I wish it would stop alerting me that the notifications have been turned off , I don’t want them on.
-- Itsthenew, 2025-01-12

### ***** "Great App"
Simple to use. Set custom heart zone alarms. Exactly what I needed.
-- swisscakeroll, 2024-12-11

### ***** "So Grateful to have this wonderful free app"
This app is so helpful, so clear, so intuitive, and so elegantly designed. In just using it for two days I have already learned valuable things about what makes my heart rate fluctuate and have some ideas how to keep it calmer. I’m amazed and grateful for the talent, skill, and insight of the designer and of his generosity in making it available free to all. I think it will help so many people who aren’t located where they can easily access specialized medicine, can’t afford it, or don’t have time to locate it and get to it often. This app provides immediate information on how your heart is behaving so you can see what’s going on better and what seems to help and what doesn’t.
I looked for a link to provide a tip and there wasn’t one. If the developer is ever again in a position to maintain the app, I’m sure many users would be happy to donate towards its upkeep in appreciation for how it has helped them! I would!

### ***** "Works with ifit smartbeat strap"
Just downloaded it and seems to work well! So nice to have an app that doesn’t charge a monthly subscription. Thank you 😊
-- jen5391, 2024-03-06

### ***** "Excellent free app with great features"
I have not been able to find any other apps that do quite what this app does and for free to top it all off.

You can set alarms at different heart rates, export the data easily via email or other options. It seems widely compatible with different devices.
-- en0u9h, 2023-07-17

### ***** "Finally a HR app that actually monitors!!!"
I’ve downloaded dozens of apps looking for just one that will monitor my heart rate without having to look at my phone. It’s incredibly distracting and dangerous to have to look at my phone every five seconds to see ifI’m in my heart rate zone. Heart Buddy allows you to simply set an alert for your high and low HRs. Then you get an audible alert if you go above or below that range. Simple. Effective. I had trouble connecting my Polar chest strap at first, but another user solve the problem by removing the battery and replacing it. That also worked for me.
