Maeda's first original game in 15 years, Heaven Burns Red tells the story of the group of girls set to save humanity from destruction.

### ***** "Fun, hilarious, and underrated visual novel game"
This game surprised me with how fun it is. At heart, it’s a visual novel with turn-based battles and gacha-like character building. What makes it so special is the writing. It’s just a delight because the characters are so quirky and the dialogue genuinely funny. While it has the typical low drop rates and fan service of anime gachas, you can just enjoy the gameplay and story and have a great time. Gorgeous anime art too. I recommend trying it!

First SS after 149 pulls. Are you kidding me? Stingy with currency but they do occasionally give guaranteed SS tickets.

Clunky and outdated UI. Really frustrating especially when wanting to retry stages. Gameplay is basic and unsatisfying after a while. 

Top tier characters, though the 3D  makes them look chonky. 

Good but predictable story.

✋Absolutely Cinema🤚 

This is the new peak from my GOAT Jun Maeda. After he survived from his severe heart problem, he have been through a lot. I’ve seen his breakthroughs and improvements and new artistic passions in storytelling and music, and his thoughts about life and death in this game! 
If you are a Jun Maeda/Key/Visual Novel/JRPG/…etc. fans, you should definitely try it out for yourself and it wouldn’t be hard to try out cuz it’s a free to play game

### ****- "It’s Jun Maeda"
The story is everything you’d expect from Jun Maeda and Key - I haven’t even gotten very far into the game but there’s an emotional core and some hilarious comedy that got me invested like no other gacha game has been able to do for the last 5 years. It’s great. The fanservice is also on the low end for a gacha game which is always appreciated. (Also, I wouldn’t say it’s gay. There’s a lot of comedic girl on girl flirting, but it’s all hilarious and obviously not to be taken seriously.)

I’ve not been hugely impressed by the gameplay. The gacha is also pretty unforgiving once you get past all the new player free stuff. Still worth it for the story though.

After 2 solid hours of incessant chatter, I have still not actually fought anything. How can anyone give this 5 stars. It is not a game. It is nothing but a girls drama.

TLDR: Play if you want a heavenly experience (no puns intended)

The story: 13/10

It’s the usual apocalypse settings but the main character is not the chosen one destined to save the world. A normal person trying to save the world. The game makes you truly immersed in the world setting.

The Gameplay: 8/10

The gameplay is okayish. Nothing groundbreaking. Nothing upsetting. Usual turn based. The game is PVE no one to compete with you. And the Events are permanent too.

The Artstyle : 11/10

The character arts is truly exquisite. The premium artstyle. What else can I say.

The Music : 12/10

Songs are written and composed by a world renowned artist. What really surprised me is that voice actors can sing really well.

The Gacha : 8/10

You can clear content with the free ones. If you want meta you would need to be mindful of what you summon with your crystals. If you decide to pay summon for paid crystal only banners.

If/when this is ever changed, I’ll change the review. But for now, one star, because they only allow Apple as an alternative sign-in option. I signed in with Google on my PC and thus I can’t get into that same account on my phone. Very disappointing as I love this game.

If you like yuri and angst and gay protagonists and really snappy Azumanga-Daioh-like 2000s-style anime humor and having your heart ripped out of your chest and stomped on repeatedly, this is your game. 

Also Ruka and Yuki should kiss. Do it writers, I know you want to. 

(seriously, the fact that no one but me has mentioned how incredibly through-the-roof gay this game is is a crying shame) 

And yes, Yuki is definitely the best

### ***** "Fantastic Storytelling"
Wow. I expected a slightly cinematic gacha game with a cool art style, and got an incredible visual novel with combat, exploration, and interactive characters. This game not just raises the bar for what gacha storytelling can be, it puts other games to shame.

The writing, voice acting, character development, and strategy on top of it all actually blow me away. I couldn’t recommend this game any more. Play it, read, marvel, enjoy.
