Basically unusable if you don’t pay
You can’t like more than a few people at a time until it locks you out for a whole day, asking you to subscribe if you want to have access to features. It’s pretty frustrating that so many apps are going subscription-based now, and I expected better from a queer app. I don’t want to use Tinder or the like, but at least they serve their function without having to shell out money!
Allowed to be overrun by men.
When is at first came out it was one of the greatest lesbian apps as far as dating goes. They stood beside only allowing queer female and trans men. Now, unfortunately, they have allowed Sis to join the app which is ruined the enjoyment of being a lesbian app choose a different one. You’ll get hit by men on here and they don’t care. You’ll have men in your inbox and if you’re rude to them, your page to get shut down. If you express on your bio that you do not wish to be contacted by men your page will be taken down.
:/
Locked me both times I hit they them pronouns on two different accounts.
To many men on the app
That’s all I’m going to say. I was using the app looking for women…..
Horrible app
Only weird ppl on there and creeps. No lesbians or queer women on the app just men that they never ban.
SCAM!
It has so many pay walls now and it makes you pay more then Tinder for features that are basic. Definitely not worth it anymore since the last update. It’s a cash dump.
Be Careful with Her
A few weeks ago, Her placed my account on hold. I waited 3-5 days before sending in a new message. That was a bit bothersome, but I sent them another email nonetheless. As of today, I finally received a response from the staff, stating that my account would not be removed from its ban and that I violated unspecified guidelines. I’ve been on Her multiple years and have been quite bold with my words on the dash; however, I have never been rude or phobic. Also, I haven’t shown any explicit nudity or claimed I wasn’t who I said to be. With that said, I did make a post claiming how poorly moderated the app was, not unlike many other people on the app. Yet, Her placed my account on hold after I mentioned how the staff moderated the app. I responded with an email to the team stating how retaliatory the ban on my profile felt. I haven't received a response; frankly, I'm not sure I would get one if the staff had just told me that was why I wouldn’t have minded. However, the entire thing seems very petty on the staff’s part. I am writing this as a warning to anyone considering this app. Be careful of what you say; if you publicly criticize the app's dysfunction, you will likely have your profile banned. It seems scary to have moderators who are petty when a user calls out the wrongs of an app that should work for everyone. If you are thinking of joining Her, again, be careful. This app is full of cis-male predators, people trying to traffic women, unicorn hunters, TERFs, and people who refuse to follow the actual guidelines and post vivid nudity on the dash. I once adored this app, mainly because it did make meeting other queer folks more accessible, especially if you’re disabled. I hope it gets better in the future, but as of right now, I don’t think I’ll be coming back and will continue to try my hand with Tinder and Bumble.
Lost their purpose
Used to be a lesbian app, hints the name HER, but they’ve become SO inclusive that straight men are all over the app. The app is no better than going to a straight bar at this point.
Enjoyed it until my account got banned for no reason?
I generally really liked the interface and was enjoying using it, even though I hadn’t had much luck so far—I think I had maybe one match with a brief but polite conversation that stalled. But suddenly my account got permanently banned, and no explanation was provided. I certainly didn’t say or do anything to violate the terms of service. I tried reaching out to the support team for clarification and help a few times, but because my account was banned, I kept getting unhelpful automated messages about how I was banned—like, yeah? That’s my issue! I never heard anything back from any of my attempts to resolve the issue. But I still get their spam emails constantly 🙄 HER, if you read these—please help me out!
Scam!
I paid $20 for a month for gold and you still can’t even see who liked your profile or who online or anything so what’s the point in paying $20 this app is a scam.
