The content is meh - okay. I have followed Brian for a long time - and it has been interesting to see the evolution of his ideas from Optimize to Heroic to the Philosophers Notes. I found the Basic Training curriculum to be useful and sparked some new good ideas. My primary critique here is that the content has self-centered undertones of being the cult of Brian… nearly every video, every philosopher’s note, even meditations, are self-referential to Brian… when they would be much more inspirational and powerful without the self-centeredness. I doubt Brian will ever change this… but letting everyone know I find it to be over the top. The cult of Brian, combined with the complication of ancient wisdom now described with silly formulas and jargon (which Brian is happy to say are tattooed over his body) muddles - rather than activates - these timeless human principles.
