They asked me to download and use this HID Approve app instead of the physical token I have. But reading the reviews I simply can’t risk making a poor service into a worse one. Also have google authenticator and Duo mobile. So I was not expecting trouble using this HID app. Oh no. My online CAF Bank in uk says I need to authenticate the transaction by tapping Approve or Decline in the app. Yes the app popped up with the correct screen but tap as often as I like and neither button responded. In fact I was locked on this screen of the app. Had to force close to get out. Simple it is not. Why not just work like all the other authentication apps I have and display a code. After 3 calls (30+min wait time each time) I “failed” the security login because I couldn’t answer who on the account had called in to the support line, or which standing orders or DD had been set up despite telling the operative that I couldn’t get access to the account to determine this information and I was not the main applicant). Support is dreadful and I was refused permission to be put through to a manager. My complaint can only be posted (not emailed) to me and I was told in advance it would not be upheld. When you then try to re-register it says you can use the HID Approve mobile security app. The instructions within the cooperative business app states to: 1. Open the HID Approve mobile security app 2. Enter your 4-digit PIN 3. Press okay again to generate a new code 4. Enter the code below The issue here is that there is no option within the HID Approve mobile security app to enter a four digit pin code at all. It simply is not configured for the function listed above to take place. Hence the only way to re-register in the cooperative business account app is using the physical plastic security token. That is fine when you are at home but completely useless when you are away from home and are not caring with you this otherwise useless piece of plastic. The quality of the co-op business account is lamentably poor and lagging so far behind any other business bank account. I went for the co-op for their ethical policy but there’s only so much you can put up with. -- Epidem1, 2023-08-29 ### *---- "Very poor" I’d best be careful what I say, they might de-bank me. For anyone thinking about moving to the CO OP be aware in my view the IT infrastructure is probably one the worst in the industry. I moved to the CO OP thinking support an ethical bank I regret that now. Telephone Support is poor also, I’ve always waited at least 20 mins for a response and go through the same security checks twice.
