One of my fav apps - use it to track many diff things
UPDATE: I have set up many iOS Shortcuts to super charge use of the app, with 1-tap access to log occurrences with pre-set comment text! I log 10+ events daily so this has really helped.
I love the most recent additions of Categories, so I don't have to resort to emojis as part of event name anymore. Swiping left now gives you option to add details to the occurrence rather than trying to delete the event. Never had problems with crashes or data loss. I use it to track meds, health, visits with friends (life gets busy and this keeps me from going months between visits) and a lot more. Noticed iCloud sync added as well. This is much better than occasionally remember to export to CSV.
BEWARE - does not retain data!
I used the app for a couple years, and enjoyed the functionality. But, as several other reviewers have commented, a recent update wiped out all of my data. I used it to track some important things in my life, and so losing the data is tragic. I’ve never had this happen with any other app. It’s hard to believe that the developers rolled out updates that delete all of the user’s data. This is a huge oversight in QA testing, and I’ve lost all confidence in the app and it’s developers. Based on dates of comments from other reviewers it has been an issue for several months, and the developers have failed to rollout an update to prevent this issue from happening. So, if you choose to use this app just remember you could lose all your data at any time. I for one will be finding a more reliable app to use.
Could you allow user to pick category colors?
Hello, could you add the ability for one to choose more colors than are available? You could integrate the default iOS color swatch picker. It would also be cool to see if we could change the accent color of the app. Thanks!
Awesome!
Returned me a sense of control. Keeps getting better.
Simple and useful
This app is amazing at tracking things I want to remember to do daily as well as weekly/monthly. Lovely.
Stop deleting my review! Bad app!
Lost 3 years of data with app update. App was set to back up to iCloud, and prior to update, never had a problem getting data back after resetting phone. Asked developer to roll back app long enough for us to recover data and export data in csv form, but they said rolling back update is not possible. I know that is not true. It has been done before by other developers. This dev emailed me for several attempts at reimporting data, blah, blah, blah…but when I said that has not helped at all, I never heard from them again. I can not recommend this app. Stay away.
Indispensable
There aren't many apps that can change your life. But this is uniquely (as far as I know) one. Perfect for busy folks, folks trying to maintain good habits, folks trying to break bad habits, people working on being better. Hindsight can help. Here's an example. Shouldn't you call your mom more? So set mom up as an event, note the time that you called, and maybe what you chatted about. As soon as you hang up Hindsight starts measuring the time since that call. Every time you call you just select "Mom" and maybe what you spoke about. And then it starts counting again. Over time you can see the metrics on the dashboard - "hey I call mom about every three weeks, maybe I should call every two"? So you then set an alert within the app, to call every two weeks. But if you don't remember, no biggie, Hindsight will just note how you're doing. And of course when you are there you can see the notes from the last call which is invaluable when keeping up with friends or clients who you only are in intermittent contact with. Now do imagine having this type of informetion for the following things. What's the typical interval between days when you have an alcoholic drink (wow, I drink THAT much?!), or time between non-zero days where you did something good for your body (don't break the chain, keep it under 36 hours), or maybe you are quitting something - nice to see that its been 93 days since the last cigarette - you really want to throw that away now and start from zero again? Whether you are trying to start something, stop something, keep doing something - this is a fascinating insight into the rhythm of your life. Currently, I'm using to it call friends more, call non-everyday clients regularly and make sure I remember what we spoke about last, reduce the number of times I eat dessert (and not freak out too much when I DO eat dessert - eh, its been 10 days, I can have some cake) stay off of cigarettes, make sure not too much time goes by before I have date night with my wife, and a host of other metrics. All of these activities can be grouped into different categories, so you could just look at "clients" and see who has fallen to the bottom ie you haven't called for a while. Or look at all your Food items together. The developer is amazingly responsive - open to suggestions and making this better with every iteration. There are few apps that you need to look at every day, fewer still that make you better, this does both effortlessly and easily and it's just measuring
Oh My God! Years of Data Gone.
Oh my god! What happened to all my important dates?! I’ve been using this app for years and kept track of so many things in my life. Family milestones, personal milestones, important medical dates regarding when I started a medication or supplement, days since I began various activities to so many other categories of important dates.
They’re all gone now.
I tried using import data from 2x.x in the settings but no data to import. I presume a recent update deleted everything. Now I’m realizing it was my mistake for relying on this app to keep record of so many important dates. I’m more sad then angry. So many dates I’ll never be able to know again. What a horrible feeling.
Unique!
Love this app. I still have not found another quite like this one .
My favorite app. Don’t love new look.
Overdue events no longer show at the top. Prefer the look of previous design. Still an indispensable app for me. But not loving the new version. But I suppose I’ll have to get used to it. But no way to get app support. Link just shows you screenshots so I’m having to write my issue here and hope developer sees it. Will add more stars if issues addressed. ——
Update: found out there was a feedback email in the settings. Having the app support link in the App Store actually direct you to your email would make more sense. When setting alerts, it says that it will mark events as overdue and show at the top. So it’s a bit counterintuitive to have to ALSO go to settings to actually enable that feature, but I found it and it works now.
Still don’t love new look. The new user interface feels like it takes more steps to do things than it used to. I also liked the feature where you could change the time to the current time. That seems to have disappeared. Previously, after you edited an occurrence, and put in background, when you went back to the app, it would go back to the main list. I liked that. Now after I look at a history or make an edit, I have to hit the back button multiple times or quit the app and reopen to get back to main list. But I suppose some may prefer this. I’m grateful that you haven’t abandoned this app like many other apps I’ve relied on in the past. So thank you. This really is my most used app. But tbh, even with some of the new improvements, I think the previous version was better overall. But that’s just my opinion. Maybe you could make it an option to choose which look you prefer.
