Hinge is the dating app for people who want to get off of dating apps. With profiles that show your personality through text, photos, video, and voice, you have unique conversations that lead to great dates. Additionally, in 2022, we were the fastest-growing dating app in the US, UK, and Canada.

HOW WE GET YOU OFF HINGE
When it comes to online dating, people are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. Here’s how:

* We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you.

* We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, as well as information like religion, height, politics, dating intentions, relationship type, and much more.

* We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile. Our latest feature, Convo Starters, offers personalized ideas inspired from someone’s Prompt answers and photos to help you spark engaging conversations from the start. 

* We want you to feel confident about meeting people in person. Selfie Verification makes it easier for daters on Hinge to ensure that they are who they say they are.

* We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future.

The app is free to use. Members looking to see everyone who likes them or send unlimited likes can upgrade to Hinge+. To access additional features, including enhanced recommendations and priority likes, we offer HingeX.

How many times have I given this app a chance? Many. How much money has been wasted in the “upgrades”? Plenty. I’m not someone who lacks in attractiveness, but geez, this app has made me think I’m just going to be alone forever. Not helpful or useful, and the time I’ve spent on 100+ matches has only resulted in 1 date. I’d rather take my chances outside than to keep swiping and lowering my self-esteem.

While in the midst of a few very kind, respectful, enlightening conversations, I received an email that I had been reported and was instantly banned.  No warning, no real explanation.  I’ve now permanently lost contact with a certain someone who could’ve potentially been a soulmate.  I’m 100% on board with trying to cultivate a safe environment but if anyone can just report anybody for petty reasons like they were mad I didn’t wanna go on a second date (I’m guessing, because it’s the only thing I can think of that makes sense) and get the other person banned, then it’s not a safe environment at all. 👎🏼👎🏼

The app is decent but there are a few things that could make it a lot more user friendly and less frustrating to use. First, if I have passed on a person, stop showing them again and again. It’s a no, showing their profile again isn’t going to change that. Second, when the app notifies you that they think someone is a good match or you’ve matched with them, clicking the link in the email doesn’t take you to that profile. It just loads the app home screen. Third, the app allows filtering by height but not weight. Oh someone might be offended if they get filtered out by weight? If you are going to allow filtering on physical characteristics, then allow it, not just because you are catering to a certain group of people and whatever the latest social trend is.

Is anyone else getting overcharged in their subscriptions? I had to dispute 3 charges of 16.99!!! This app is stealing from people. I tried one last time and paid for a weeks worth of being able to see my likes. After purchasing I immediately ended the subscription in order to not be charged again… Lo AND BEHOLD I was charged 16.99 yesterday. CraziER part is even when they over charged you don’t get the product. THEY. JUST.  WANT. MONEY.

Fake people that will just end up asking you to subscribe to their onlyfans because they “only trust people if I get to know them first on onlyfans” like yeah right. it’s the most annoying thing. People will still match with me but never respond or text at all so what’s the point of them being on there. This app shows a clear bias favoring men over women. Many of the men on this app have narcissistic tendencies and will report you simply for standing up to their disrespectful behavior. I reported someone who was repeatedly harassing me, constantly trying to match with me time and time again, yet my account ended up getting banned instead. It seems like the platform prioritizes its male users, likely because they bring in more revenue. Honestly, the entire experience has been incredibly disappointing.

The best part about the app is the freedom and depth of the profiles. Worst part are the people who are on it. I personally didn’t have luck finding love mainly due to the amount of immature lowlifes that are on it. One example/experience - Guys constantly flipping you off in their profile pics. Hinge had me for two months till I gave up. If you’re a female I wouldn’t waste your time on dating apps, find someone a different way. Personally I only had surface level interactions through the app. I’ve matched with 10+ people and not one had the balls to go on a date, in fact it basically becomes a game of who can unmatch the other first. Don’t waste your time, but if you wanna give it ago this is the best ‘dating’ app out there at the moment. 

I would like to point out that when you first start using Hinge it will taunt you with a good amount of handsome/beautiful people (likely bots), then it’s down hill from there. It’s just something to keep in mind.
