I very much like the new Hive App.

Hive Heating Plus will not let me carry on

Asks for how to notify me. Add smart device and done. Doesn’t like it. Add email and done doesn’t like it. Add text message and done, doesn’t like it. Picked all sort of combinations but can’t carry on until this is resolved. Any suggestions

Does not work with Apple HomeKit

Having just spent a fortune on Apple HomePods, I can not connect Hive. Having wasted hours trying to force it to connect, I have found from Hive support that there is a known issue with the current app meaning it doesn’t integrate with Apple HomeKit. Avoid until it is fixed!

Does not work with Apple Home

Even though Apple home is on the ‘works with’ screen, the developers of the app have confirmed it doesn’t work. I had to have my Home activation key reset as I continually got ‘the passcode is wrong’. Now the app can’t open the Home app for pairing and there is no key generated at all. Support have confirmed all I can do is wait for an update here. Note, is this is only on ‘newer’ hubs - my original one works fine.

Accessibility

I used to able to control this app as a visually impaired user, but now I can’t access the buttons in the schedule tab, so I’m no longer able to change the peramiters. I also don’t seem to be able to access support

No good

I’ve gone from 73 Mbps to 833 Mbps and the heat still doesn’t come on

Fantastic app!

For controlling Hive devices, it works exactly as intended with flexible options for home automation. Easy to use and simplistic but modern interface!

Distasteful

Charging a subscription fee to let you see your own data is shameful. I guess this is where we are now with these companies.

Cameras

Cameras are now so slow at loading up the image and cane use any of the alarms or speaking functions. I understand you are going to cut them off but whilst they are still here please continue to support them.

Poor app and unstable platform

Wouldn’t recommend. The heating controller worked well but the app and associated add ons are so unreliable and the after sales support so bad
