## Hiyacar Description
Hire a local car by the hour or the day in the UK with the Hiyacar car-sharing app. Hiyacar aims to change local mobility by providing drivers and renters with a car when and where they want one.

Founded in 2014, Hiyacar is the UK's longest trading peer-to-peer car-sharing platform operating with over 180,000 members throughout the country. The smart service allows car owners to make money by renting their cars to a vetted community of drivers. Since 2020, Hiyacar is also an accredited CoMoUK car club and now hosts a myriad of local community car clubs & property developers car-sharing schemes (S106). Since 2022, Hiyacar has also started offering a pool car-sharing platform for NHS trusts. This doesn't only make better use of some of the 38 million vehicles that sit idle for 95% of the time, but also turns personal cars into assets whilst reducing ownership.

Our app is the future of local car hire and car-sharing, letting you hire cars direct from people in your neighbourhood instantly, using our unique keyless technology. Say goodbye to key handovers: our keyless QuickStartTM solution allows for instant local car hire, letting hirers securely book, unlock, and start cars from their phone. Choose from a wide range of vehicles, from your local city car, premium cars, vans, or 7-seaters.

Hiyacar's technology is trusted all around the UK. Our platform is used by local community car clubs, professional rental companies, local businesses, your neighbours, and even NHS trusts to enable quick, safe, and convenient car-sharing in Greater London, Bristol, Brighton, Edinburgh, Oxfordshire, Swale, Norfolk, & Suffolk.

Hiyacar is operating as a car club for the London boroughs of Islington, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Hackney, and the cities of Bristol, & Oxford. We also have cars in Southwark, Wandsworth, Greenwich, Lambeth, Newham, Camden, & Haringey. From N16 to SW16, search, book, drive.

* Hire a car in minutes:

1 - Search for available cars & vans around you
2 - Sign up and get verified (have your licence handy!)
3 - Book from a local neighbour or from our car club
4 - Unlock the car with your phone

## Hiyacar Reviews in United Kingdom

### *---- "Radu"
Absolutely a joke company, they charge 9£ to verify your and reject your application with the excuse that you have a CCJ when I never had one and have proof for that. Obviously they don’t refund and they tell you that just after you purchase.
-- rad9120, 2024-12-15

### *---- "Very disappointed"
Prices claimed to be cheap and then when I joined they went way up! Took my £9.49 off me and then when I tried to book a car the credit wouldn’t come off. I’ll stick with zipcar
-- RollingstonezZz, 2024-11-17

### *---- "iOS 18"
Dark mode icon please!
-- Matt Ledger, 2024-10-27

### ***** "Miss"
Amazing service! Really convenient
-- twi bible, 2024-09-20

### **--- "Bad first experience"
Hired without issue. On the morning was alerted the hire would start soon. No location information was available and so had difficulty finding the car. Owner never replied. Then when trying to connect, the app crashed multiple times. Live chat with an agent revealed the tracking tech had been unresponsive for three days and so they believed the car had been tampered with. It would have been nice to know that there was a problem with my hire three days ago so I could have made alternative plans. The app should notify users when there is an issue. 2 stars only because I was refunded and credited £15 on the spot. I can see how it works for most, but unfortunately my first experience was a circus.
-- Jozorio, 2024-08-17

### ***** "Harry Botonakis"
Great app easy to follow
-- Fshsjsksbd, 2024-08-11

### *---- "Infuriating"
The search function in this app is so incredibly infuriating. It fails to hold or remember your location, pick up date/time and drop off date/time, requiring you to repeatedly enter it over and over again. You can’t check a car in or out if you have no network (e.g. in an underground car park).
-- artfulrodger, 2024-07-15

### ****- "Lovely drive"
This car is very nippy and god on fuel and would definitely hire it again. My only issue was the last person to use it, left it dirty inside. An due to the time I bought it back (00:34) I could not hoover & clean the interior and made me feel bad. Because whoever has it next , have the same dirty car . So I must say ….. sorry .
-- £££££££££&&, 2024-06-22

### ****- "Good app"
Air bnb for cars

Can you make it more simple to see what I paid for a book please. Or where invoices are kept, or something
-- exitium88, 2024-05-18

### *---- "STAY AWAY"
Especially from the auto lock vehicles. The Bluetooth connection WILL fail and you WILL need to speak to customer service over live chat every time you want to start the engine. They do not take 3 mins to get back to you, they take an hour each time.
