## Home Description
Home tab makes it easier to navigate, organize, view and control all your smart home accessories.

A multi-camera view displays up to four cameras in the Home tab and you can scroll to see any additional cameras.

Adaptive Temperature* sets your thermostat to automatically adjust when you’re on your way home, when you go to sleep, or when you’re away for an extended period of time.*

Guest access*** provides date and time- based access to locks, garage doors, and alarm systems for visitors in the Home app.

Activity History displays recent history for climate automations, garage door, door lock, security systems, and contact sensor events*

Siri makes it easy to use your voice to control accessories. Say a phrase like “Lock the front door,” or create a scene and say “Good night” to turn off all your lights.

Widgets on iPhone and iPad give you the ability to see the status of your home and access relevant accessories.

Control Center gives you quick access to control your favorite accessories and scenes and features a dedicated and customizable section for additional accessories and scenes. 

Robot vacuum cleaners can clean your whole home or specific rooms through the app or using Siri.**

Grid Forecast uses data from your local electric grid to show when it will be running on cleaner sources, so you can plan when to charge devices or run appliances. (Contiguous US Only)

Electricity usage and rate plan information are displayed for eligible customers when connecting their utility account to the Home app. (US only)

Home app on Apple Watch displays relevant accessories you'll most likely need at top for immediate access and then all accessories in favorites, cameras, and rooms.

HomePod or other AirPlay-enabled speakers can be added in the Home app to control your smart home and play music in any room in your house.

HomePod and Apple TV act as a home hub to manage your home while you’re away. Automatically run scenes and control accessories based on your location, the time of day, a sensor detection, or the action of an accessory.

HomeKit Secure Video**** lets you view live video and recordings as well as get rich notifications when people, pets, vehicles, or package deliveries are detected from your security cameras or video doorbell. View a 10-day recording history in the Home app, and you can share or save recordings.

Adaptive Lighting** lets you set compatible lightbulbs to automatically adjust their color temperature throughout the day to help maximize comfort and productivity. Wake up in the morning to warm colors, stay alert midday with cooler tones, and wind down at night by removing blue light.

*  Requires a home hub, such as Apple TV or HomePod and a compatible Matter thermostat. Users must be using the latest version of Apple Home and have location services enabled for Home app and Home Accessories.

### ****- "Good App but need improvement with carplay"
Work really well in combination of HomeBridge & Home-Assistant server. With these two additionnal domotic system, Home application can be connected to many other devices manufacturer. It’s not really hard to set-up it’s just long. But when it’s done everything works. Apple should include a back-up option in the app. One Another potential improvement is to make a carplay home app compatible. I don’t want to use Siri each time I want to open the garage door.

This app is an abject failure, it consistently fails to send invites, the invites fail about 50% of the time when they are created. 

Commands on occasion take half a minute before being actioned.

The good thing about this app is that it gather all my HomeKit compatible devices in one place. However mostly limited to On/Off  and white/color controls. You cannot access the fancy OEM scenes. Some manufacturers let you create scenes and transfer them to HomeKit but they do not always translate properly.

In order to reduce the unresponsive devices, i went thru several tweaking on my mesh router. Also, i removed some devices that just kept being unresponsive in HimeKit no matter what settings were changed on my router. For some reason these devices were responsive in their manufacturer app, but not in HomeKit… Anyway, since then all my devices (~125) are responsive.

I was so excited to buy a home pod mini, but it’s been nothing but a headache. I bought one in the summer and it hasn’t worked right since.

We did the work and enabled peer to peer requests on your wifi but that hasn’t fixed anything. I’ve deleted it, reinstalled it and everything else.

It’s extremely frustrating and time-consuming to just set up some lights and you just get a spinning circle for minutes and no progress is being made on the set up of your device. This could be a great app but Apple doesn’t seem to really support it. Even when you buy a supported Home Kit product from the Apple Store the Home Kit experience struggles to stay consistent. 
Automations work when they want to but they fail to work consistently across the board.

Video connected products suffer from stability problems and there is no way to remotely restart them. Even when you have multiple Apple hubs like Home Pods and Apple TVs there are stability problems that can happen on a weekly basis. I have to go around my house restarting Home Pods and Apple TVs manually on a weekly basis sometimes.

Apple can you please add a way to remotely power cycle Apple Hubs through the Home Kit app so I don’t have to do it manually?

If Apple resolves the issues with HomeKit it would be amazing. Until they decide to really support and deliver an amazing experience it will fall short and continue to frustrate it’s users.

With this poor quality, I really wonder whether some people would have lost their jobs… I am really surprised how buggy this app is, especially in combination with a single homepod. It makes the homepod nearly useless because it can not be set up correctly.
