HomeBudget is an integrated expense tracker designed to help you track your expenses, income, bills-due and account balances. It offers support for budgeting, and allows analysis of your expenses and income, including charts and graphs. Two key differentiating features of HomeBudget are:
1. Integrated set of features. The features within HomeBudget are well integrated such that a bill can become an expense (when you pay for it) and also adjust the account balance at the same time.
2. Family sync. HomeBudget includes Family Sync, an advanced feature that allows a group of devices within the household to exchange expense and income information, and work together within a single budget. Once setup, the devices sync with each other automatically over the air. Family Sync works across all features including Bills and Accounts. Best Ap

I’ve been using this app for at least 15 or 20 years and it’s got everything anyone would need to keep track of your finances and make a budget. It’s easy to use once you set it up, and it has a clean colourful interface that’s cheerful to use. I always know in real time how much money I have in any account, how much I owe on credit cards, and what my balance is. I know what bills are due and what account they’re coming out of. I honestly can’t live without this app. I have transferred my data from it to many phones over the years and it always transfers successfully. Please never stop updating the app for future phones. No other app has these features that are so easy and pleasant to use

My wife and I have been using this to manage finance since 2014 and it’s been excellent. I am a little concerned there’s been no update in 2+ years but the app has been solid.

I have been using this app for over 10 years. It does everything I want it to do. Allows me to track our household income and expenses.

Absolutely Infuriating

If you close an account and want to remove it from view, you can’t. You just get a warning message telling you to deactivate the account in settings. Whatever. That warning message only has an “Ok” button to dismiss it !!! That deleted the account and ALL transactions for that account. If you try to restore from a daily Dropbox backup, it doesn’t reinstate the deleted account!! What’s the point of having a backup if it doesn’t put you back to where you were at that point in time? Now I’m missing months of data and manual input! I wish I could give zero stars, but I can’t. Be warned.

What attracted me first to this app was the wifi sync. Initially, I thought the app would be a bit complicated to use but it is very intuitive. I took one hour to read the user guide to get me started, setting up my accounts, the ones that have money. Then I setup a budget which is very simple and easy to adjust, same as the accounts. Once all this set, I followed the instructions on sync’ing my iPhone and iPad. It was a breeze. My only question I have, and maybe I am overthinking this, is my monthly budget works out but my credit card billing date versus due date offsets my monthly expenses by XX days. If my billing is on the 12th of a month but only need to pay bill by end of month i.e. 30th. I end up having expenses across portions of two budget months. Like I said, maybe I am overthinking it.
