Don’t buy the printer because the software is terrible. Airprint (as advertised) dies not work natively on Apple - instead you need to send the documents to this HP Smart App, which needs you to keep the phone screen open whilst printer is printing. I sit here and watch my screen for long times whilst the printer foes it’s thing and wait for each page to print! Also same for Windows 10 and Windows 11 - bad software and drivers!!!

I’ve used this app for years with no problems. Today it tells me the HP MFP I’ve been using it with does not support scanning. Same thing with the Windows desktop version. HP used to be a company I admired. Between the scam of forcing you to pay exhorbitant rates for printer ink and forced absolesence of my MFP, HP is not a company to be trusted any more.

This App seems to override my devices ability to find the HP Smart Tank 7005 printer.
It’s very frustrating. I can’t open a document and send it directly to a printer. I need to save it first to files then open HP Smart and then retrieve the file. Very clumsy and slow.
