I use the app daily to measure HRV. Combined with Polar HR10 strap, it works perfectly. It works with phone camera too. I tried other apps and found HRV4Training the most convenient one. Definitely recommend it.
This is an excellent app developed by serious scientists! The HRV recorded with the use of the phone camera is accurate as demonstrated by proper validation tests.
Not an elite athlete, just an amateur interested in health and training. Using it for a long time now. The longer I use it, the more useful it gets to understand how my body reacts to everything related to training and other health factors. Developers are very helpful with questions, feedback and features request. Really, really happy with it.
Very solid HR measurement, combined with powerful analytics.
I’ve used it every day for the better part of a year now first thing in the morning and I have no complaints. I was leery of the claim that the phone camera would give the same quality data as a HR chest strap but I’ve done a bunch of comparisons and yeah they give basically the same results. Which is nice because my hr strap goes on the fritz sometimes. It’s worth the money and it’s not a subscription thank god.
Doesn’t work. Very annoying when it resets every 30 seconds (out of 60) and tells you to readjust your finger on the camera that hasn’t moved. Waste of $10. Deleted.
I’ve used this app for years and it continues to decline. At the last update it stopped syncing to Aura ring, and now it refuses to sync to Apple health also. I’ve emailed and they offer useful assistance. Time to change to a different app.
I’ve been taking HRV since 2013 and moving to HRV4Training when it first came out. It does what it’s designed to do and does it well.
I wanted this app to sync the raw HRV data read from Oura into TrainingPeaks. It doesn’t actually send the raw HRV number instead it’s sending a score which is not HRV.
