From a lack of responsiveness to inefficiencies in handling even the most basic banking tasks, every interaction seemed to result in delays and endless frustration. Their communication channels are overly complicated, and resolving issues often felt impossible due to contradictory information from their support team. To make matters worse, the app experience was terrible—poorly designed, often unresponsive, and riddled with glitches that made managing my finances unnecessarily difficult. For a bank with such a global reputation, the service provided was shockingly poor. Because of this, I will never bank with HSBC again and strongly discourage anyone else from doing so. I’ve had a business account with Kinetic since 2022 and I can’t use it as my main account - so many of the “features” simply do not work. You’re hit with error messages all over the place. Despite continually sending screen shots to the customer service reps on the chat, nothing has been fixed in two years. A few examples: You can’t update direct debit categories once they’ve paid out, Xero (other than for reconciliation) just says it’s not available so you can’t see any of your upcoming bills etc which is supposed to be a selling point of this bank, and there’s still no Apple Pay support for cards. If you’re a new business like me, the funding options are competitive and you have most of what you could need in your first couple of years, but you can’t rely on it to have any insight into your business spending etc as the app is appalling and frustrating to use. I’m also not sure how we get an update once a month but they never remedy the issues. However, after getting a message saying there’s news about my application and to log in for details, the app freezes on “We’re logging you in” every time I try to open it. I even tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but the issue persists. This makes it impossible to view important updates. It then asked me for proof which I uploaded to be automatically rejected as it said it wanted proof of the address I am currently living at. Okay I’ll try again after messaging customer service who sent me a vague email about address mismatch with literally no other information other than you need to try again. Okay one last time I have proof of every single address I’ve ever even stepped foot in to. Get to the review section where I know it will ask for proof, bam slap in the face uses the info from my first application and auto rejects me. HSBC proceeds to tell me to make another account as the rejection is final, I’ve just been invited to go through an infinite loop of credit checks and rejections. Another issue is that the app notifies of payment for the same cheque deposited 2 or 3 times. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled etc to no avail. Please address soon.
