HUGO verifies that you are linked to the shared address through your credit/debit card registered at your address. Your card details remain confidential and encrypted at all times. HUGO cannot and will not use your card information to levy any charges.

Absolute joke of a company. Don’t use.
Their servers go down frequently, data missing for days at a time, data is never restored. As a result your month estimates are off sometimes by stupid amounts. This month March ‘23 off by 90kWh. The whole point of the app is to track your energy usage….
Swaths of missing data, they don’t care, they won’t take even a hint of responsibility or help you. Even tho data is taken live from your meter.
You’ll rely on it to provide you data from your smart meter and base your energy decisions on it mean while it’s giving you false data and they are harvesting your information. Don’t trust them.
You send a ticket and they send you a boilerplate response dodging all responsibility.

Since using Hugo I have reduced my consumption considerably. Fun to challenge myself to use a bit less each day!

THE really useful smart meter app
Such a useful app for keeping informed about how much energy you’re using, when and how much it’s costing. Ability to opt in to winter cashback events is great, especially when your energy provider doesn’t invite all smart meter users automatically. The support team are quick to respond to questions and really helpful too 👍🏻
Looking forward to some tariff competition reappearing between suppliers soon too as app enables easy switching 🤞🏻
Missing Data
The support team are good at responding, however I’ve not had gas data since installing. I’m aware there have been some apparent issues but after contacting multiple times I still have no gas data.
I’ve subsequently chosen a different app which I get full gas and electric data on.
Shame couldn’t get this resolved as seems a good app in principle.

Unhelpful customer service
I have setup an account a couple of weeks ago and never managed to get any data displayed in the app. I contacted the customer services multiple times and they kept replying with the same message citing a data outage happened on the 26th, ignoring the fact that I kept pointing out the my data was missing from before that point, and it never recovered As I can’t get any information about my meter and the customer services isn’t doing anything to help other than telling me to wait for another day, this app is pretty useless to me. Which is a shame considering the good things I heard about it
Failed to work after 2 months
The app worked fine for a while for my electricity only. Despite repeated requests got no joy for the gas monitoring. Computer generated responses, so no customer support.
Now failed completely despite raising helpdesk the system just responds with a message saying its fixed. Which it clearly is not. Useless waste of memory on my phone.
Excellent app
I have not been able to get a working IHD from my supplier, issues with having meters that are SMETS1 which was remotely upgraded to SMETS2 BUT still couldn’t get an IHD to work. My supplier knows this but no action taken.
Thankfully this app provides timely information for gas and electric. Information is in kW and cost once you have entered your tariff. Data is yearly, monthly, weekly and by yesterday by the hour. A little improvement is necessary around the budget entered. Presently you enter your annual budget and the app divides this equally for each month which isn’t too much of an issue on my electricity but is incorrect for gas usage. I have communicated this to the app designer and hopefully at some point there will be an update. Any issues I have had I have had a very fast reply from support. Would recommend anyone to give this app a try. I haven’t tried similar apps, mainly because I have been very satisfied with this app.
