It’s extremely frustrating and makes the viewing experience unnecessarily difficult. They’re not targeted and we have no input whatsoever for sometimes two-minute ads. Hims, Hers, Olympic, alopecia, and a multitude of drug offers that never persuade anyone to buy their products. Then we get the same repetitive ads that were too log, so they’re snipped and resnipped for infinity so advertisers don’t have to do any real work to make another. I get ads in Spanish, despite my language and CC being set to English. There’s very little new to watch each month, so I’ve watched and rewatched a few “favorite” series. I can’t even zone out with the oldies because of the ridiculous ad content that I have to worry may be something my young child doesn’t need to see (thankfully, recent Hims and Hers ads have stopped showing people cuddling in little clothing). Then two updates later we're back to the same awful app as before. After only a few minutes of streaming something, the UI becomes almost unresponsive; after streaming for a while it's completely unresponsive. I have to force close it to be able to use it again. It's a problem on every platform the app exists on. Seriously, fire all your developers, all of your QA the probably doesn't exist, and everyone in charge or those teams.
