Description

iCab Mobile is a web browser for the iOS. It provides many unique and useful features you won't find in other iPhone browsers.

APPLE WATCH:
The Watch App is a remote control for iCab Mobile, so you can navigate, zoom, scroll, open bookmarks, links, the homepage, switch tabs or sitch on/off the fullscreen mode. Since watchOS 6.2 you can also open web pages and browse the Web directly on the Apple Watch. But there are still limitations: there are no navigation buttons (back/forward) available.

FILE UPLOADS:
iCab Mobile can upload any files on web pages.

SEARCHING:
iCab Mobile comes with several default search engines you can choose from. You can easily add new search engines.

FILLING OUT FORMS:
iCab Mobile can save web forms and restore the form content later (manually or automatically). The saved forms data can be password protected. Supports many third-party Password Manager Apps as well.

FILTERS:
There’s a built-in fully customizable filter feature. It allows to block resources, ads, banners, user tracking scripts, cookies etc. Supports AdBlock Plus/EasyList filters as well.

TABS:
iCab Mobile supports Tabs, so you can open multiple web pages at the same time. Links can be opened in Tabs (in the foreground or background) manually or automatically.

BOOKMARKS:
Bookmarks can be organized in folders. You can import/export the bookmarks from/to your PC/Mac browser.

FULLSCREEN MODE:
iCab Mobile provides a fullscreen mode where the whole screen is used to display the web page. No screen space is wasted for toolbars.

DOWNLOADS:
iCab Mobile has a built-in Download Manager so you can download almost all files from the internet. The downloads can be easily transfered to a Mac/PC/Linux computer but also to other Apps on the device which can open these files

MULTIUSER SUPPORT
You can create multiple user accounts, each user has its own private bookmarks, filters, settings, etc.

DROPBOX
iCab Mobile supports Dropbox. Export/Import bookmarks; transfer downloads, images, files, web pages to your Dropbox account.

TWIN BROWSER:
In this mode, you can have two browsers side by side on the iPad. This is especially useful on the large iPad Pro.

VOICEOVER
The App is also accessible for visually impaired and blind users. If VoiceOver is enabled, the App plays soft ticks while a page is loading, so blind users are able to identify when the page load has finished.

- Document Sharing lets you pass downloads and files to other Apps in the device

The App includes a store providing several InApp purchases. These are meant as a tip jar. The InApp purchases are available for different prices, so you can pick the amount for the tip yourself. Doing so will unlock a few cool features as a reward, these are always the same, regardless of the amount of the tip. Users who have purchased the App within the last 12 months do get all these features for free, no need to buy one of the InApp purchases. Though they can nevertheless give me a tip, if they want to... ;-)

Kan alt muligt. Opdateres tit med nye muligheder.

Denne browser kan alt det, man savner i Safari og de andre browsere. Jeg har brugt den i flere år på iPhone og iPad. Der er utrolig mange muligheder for opsætning og for integration med alt muligt. Og så er der et hav af filtreringsmuligheder, så man undgår reklamer, når man ikke vil have dem. Brug/opsætning kræver lidt indlæring. Men til gengæld får man så de mange muligheder. Download af hjemmesider og filer, som man så kan åbne i andre apps fungerer fint. Der er også integration til den uundværlige app 1PASSWORD.

Det her er nok den bedste app på min iPad. Den løser stort set alle de problemer, jeg (og nok alle andre) har skumlet over. Nu kan du let uploade til nettet, downloade videoer og dele alting alle steder i et snuptag!

Flot, stor funktionalitet, men meget langsom

Bedste brugerinterface for en browser på iOS Rigtig mange gode funktioner som f.eks. den helt unikke file upload funktion. Alt for langsom, prøv f.eks at loade politikkens hjemmeside på den, det tager mere end dobbelt så lang tid som i Safari på iPad 1 og 2 - endda selvom den fjerner reklamerne.

Responsibly made

There is quite the number of free browsers available on the App Store, and many of these have a lot of functionality, so I can totally emphasize with the "psychological barrier" of actually paying money for a Safari alternative. However, for the rather small price, I would say that iCab achieves two things equally: lots of features *and* a highly polished visual interface. I cannot stress this enough: there are heaps of features, all while the precision and consistency of the user interface is kept almost on par with something Apple themselves could make. I definitely believe the sheer amount of features makes iCab stand out from the crowd. Elements on the toolbars and some menus can be reordered and removed, like on PC browsers. There is a detailed system for filtering and managing cookies. "iPad-like" features, such as swiping sideways to change tabs, animate smoothly. iCab even has a system for plug-ins (even though this has been degraded, due to Apple's policy of forbidding user-installable elements.) All in all, I am very pleased with this package, and I believe it is very responsibly made. I see few of the usual "irrational holes" in the visual design - my only real complaint is that the so-called "QuickStarter" screen could be a lot prettier, and has (what I see as) a nonsensical, rather annoying animation. The app does seem to run very stably, with no crashes here so far. Thumbs up for lots of features, a very precise visual design, and a developer who appears active in improving his product.

I find the preferential treatment of Readability disappointing

I bought this because it appeared in the screenshots like it had support for Instapaper, but it seems the app is heavily weighed towards the copycat service Readability. There is an Instapaper module, but there's no way to replace Readability with it, and the Instapaper module does not seem to work at all. Pressing it in the modules popup brings up a dialog asking me to configure its credentials in the module settings, but the only credentials available for configuration are Dropbox, Firefox Sync, Readability and Twitter.
