Once you’ve worked a certain amount of gigs, your pay rate increases to $25/hr. However, they’ve recently added a new “feature” that shows you gigs at a lower rate so you have the “option” of taking them or opting out. In actuality, this is an excuse to pay you less. Now, the location I’ve been working at only shows me gigs that range from $18-20/hr. And sure, you have the option to not accept them due to pay rate, but the problem is, everyone is now competing to pick up gigs at the lowest price, so the whole shift is filled with people working at a lower rate. The worst part of this is that I’ve seen no increase in the amount of gigs that populate. I’ve already had issues with JJJ: There aren’t that many jobs in NYC and because of that, the jobs that do appear are impossible to snag unless you immediately tap into the app and hit accept. Everyone I know has had instances of payroll giving them improper amounts and it being a pain to get their money right. This one time I didn’t get paid for a shift for weeks, and they never reached out to me to help sort it out. But this is the nail in the coffin. The only reason why I singled this out was because it paid well and the gigs I did work consistently with had kind supervisors (not JJJ staff). But forcing this feature onto people has pushed me over the edge. You can’t even turn it off. My primary concern is with their payroll system and lack of support from their team. After numerous unresolved issues, I feel compelled to share my experience publicly since attempting to resolve these matters directly with payroll has proven ineffective. Earlier this year, I returned to the app after taking time off due to payroll issues, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, they haven’t. The work itself is enjoyable, but that is solely because of the job sites, not this app or its team. The app is riddled with problems, and the support team, especially payroll, has been a nightmare to deal with. For instance, despite being promised instant pay, I’ve faced repeated delays. When I contacted payroll, I was given a vague excuse—apparently, one person processes instant pay in alphabetical order, and my name hadn’t come up yet. I ended up receiving my payment only after repeated calls, and on their terms, not the instant pay I had signed up for. More recently, I worked a gig on a Wednesday and again did not receive my payment within the promised timeframe. After calling payroll on Saturday, I was told it would fall into standard pay (Fridays) if not processed within 24-48 hours. That Friday came and went—still no payment. Despite their promises, I’m constantly left chasing the pay that I have rightfully earned. What makes this situation even worse is the dismissive attitude of the payroll representatives. When I tried to explain my situation, I was brushed off, ignored in the chat for hours, and eventually disconnected without a chance to respond. Additionally, the app itself has issues. Gig notifications disappear almost instantly, or the app glitches and takes forever to load, only for the gig to vanish. This isn’t an isolated incident—other workers have reported the same problems. Yet, the Jitjatjo team continues to claim that gigs are being taken quickly, which feels more like an excuse than an explanation. When I wasn’t receiving gig notifications at all, despite being qualified for multiple roles, the support team gave me an unhelpful response—simply advising me to update my availability and check my notifications, as though I hadn’t already done that. It’s disheartening that instead of resolving issues, they provide minimal assistance and place the blame on workers. After years of working with this company, I can confidently say -- Toptierness, 2024-10-02 ### ***-- "Okay App!" Just takes a while for gigs to send you invites. When you have an issue that needs to be solved, AI will be the one desperately and ineffectually trying to help you. Also recently, the company slashed their workers pay by nearly 20% and unethically and insultingly tried to sell this to its workers as “exciting news!” Honestly I’d be shocked if this company is still around in a year, as they keep losing clients at an alarming rate. This company is a great concept with atrocious execution. -- ArtStill72, 2024-10-01 ### *---- "Bartender!" THIS AGENCY IS A FRAUD! I do not recommend. The “gigs” are not real. They are sent out randomly once you select, it’s conveniently taken away. Keep in mind there are glitches in the app which causes lag time to get into gigs. I finally got a gig, funny thing it was located in New Jersey. I traveled from New York to New Jersey. I took on this gig thinking that I would get paid out quickly. The gig was on 9/17 at 3pm-8pm. I didn’t receive payment until 9/27. I was told immediate payment once gigs are completed during their interview process. That was not the case here. Allegedly your first payment is sent 10 days afterwards but your following payments maybe sent via quick pay but it’s not guaranteed. I should’ve received about $95 for the gig, instead I received $79. THEN…the funds was sent to the wrong account. I updated my account information several days PRIOR to payment being distributed. I called in to speak to HR aka Kanisha. She was not helpful at all and told me to call in to Payroll. She claims that she couldn’t transfer the call. I had to call in again, to payroll and Kanisha answers the phone. Then she claims she can’t assist although she’s apart of BOTH payroll and HR. I proceeded to send several emails about updating my account and receiving my funds immediately. They sent my funds to the wrong account on purpose. Thanks to Kanisha 😒 If they attempt to remedy it, then I’ll have to wait 10 business days for my funds.
