IdentaFly is built to shorten it — whether you're just starting out or you've been reading water for decades. - Match the Hatch The Hatch Forecast uses your location to show what's likely hatching nearby. See a bug on the water and not sure what it is? Compare it against quality images right in the app. Works offline too, so no signal isn't a problem. - Waters & River Conditions Know before you go. Browse fishing reports, see recommended fly patterns for specific waters, and check live conditions — CFS, temperature, and turbidity — so you're not guessing when you show up at the bank. BONUS: Save your favorite gage stations to your home screen widget for a quick check before you head out. - Catchtivity Log your catches, map them by location, and filter by pattern, date, or water. It's a fishing journal that's actually useful to look back on. - Fly Search & Flybox Search a deep database of flies and aquatic insects. Save the ones you fish most to your Flybox for quick reference on the water. - Instant Fly Recognition Snap a photo of any fly and IdentaFly identifies it in seconds. It's the first tool of its kind built specifically for anglers, and it works when you need it most — standing in the middle of a river wondering what's in the hatch box. - Pro Tips Straightforward advice from experienced anglers — not generic content, just useful stuff. - Community Submissions View photos of fishing waters & bugs on the water. Spot a fly that's not in the database? Submit it. The database grows because anglers contribute to it. Check back for updates to help you get the most out of your flybox! ----- For the official End User License Agreement (EULA), please refer to: ## IdentaFly Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/4f/ad/b0/4fadb085-9dc0-45b4-dd62-5f29c2f98b92/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_1.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/3d/98/27/3d982726-46dd-4991-89c3-ffa8f9a67c02/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_2.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/26/0b/c8/260bc883-3fb8-9b08-9ceb-b5330b125be8/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_7.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/b8/47/7a/b8477a4f-4c5f-e2e5-0eed-32ca329d18f3/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_8.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/dc/e2/13/dce213ea-1664-b48e-ed25-e7b213746d84/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_4.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/05/88/ec/0588ec32-f0d6-96ca-66b5-256709100c5f/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_5.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/c8/46/50/c84650c1-a188-d37e-4c80-24f42cb3cf86/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_6.png/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 8](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/7c/03/cc/7c03cc16-8bd2-42c5-5f1b-d94f8ac6e191/Apple_iPhone_14_Plus_Screenshot_3.png/1284x2778.png) ## IdentaFly Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 50 (48%) - 4 stars: 7 (7%) - 3 stars: 5 (5%) - 2 stars: 11 (11%) - 1 stars: 31 (30%) ## IdentaFly Reviews in United States ### *---- "The scan feature does not work" The scan feature does not work! -- Dyjbvve, 2024-11-02 ### *---- "Don't buy if you are looking for the AI identifier" They have the right idea but it could not even identify a chubby Chernobyl! They got $6 dollars for 10 min of frustration -- 1233455858, 2024-09-20 ### *---- "just make it a paid app" the free version is so crippled it’s a joke. not only can’t you take a photo, you can’t even search. just charge for the app! -- quickasfoxes, 2024-09-09 ### *---- "App was not able to correctly identify a single fly" I tried quite a few flies. Identified a Kaufman stone nymph as a midge. Id’ed a mop fly as an single egg. I could go on but not worth my time. While there are some helpful features in the app, fly identification is ridiculously weak. It was the ONLY reason I paid. Total waste of money. -- macfarlaneales, 2024-09-06 ### *---- "Great idea, terrible results." I wanted this app to work as I have way too many unidentified flies. I took good, well lit photos on over 20 well known flies (BWO, elk hair caddies, wooly bugger, Adam’s…etc) and every result failed to find a match or got it completely wrong. I wish there was a trial to try this full app first. Waste of money. -- Thommmlom, 2024-08-24 ### *---- "What a joke, app doesn’t work" Can’t identify basic patterns like copper John and elk hair caddis. Don’t waste your money buying this app. -- Michael 8205 d town, 2024-07-28 ### *---- "Weak" I picked up this app and paid for a month subscription just so I could help me identify all these flies in my box. I must’ve taken 15 photographs and an identified almost none of them. -- selmatard13, 2024-04-07 ### **--- "Unreliable identification" I found this highly unreliable….very clear misses -- mr. monger, 2024-03-16 ### ***** "It helped me catch fish!" I love this app! I’m new to fly fishing and was having trouble choosing flies and also knowing what flies I have. The app worked great. I looked up Midge and used the flies it recommended and actually caught fish!!!!!! -- Ljmom77, 2024-03-01 ### *---- "Just does not work" Excited fir this app, unfortunately it does not work consistently. Followed instructions carefully, out of 10 flies only identified 2. -- Macgolfer1, 2024-02-25 [View all IdentaFly reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## IdentaFly In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | Annual Subscription | $29.99 | | Monthly Subscription | $5.99 | ## IdentaFly Discovered Keywords - echo84 - fly fisherman specials - identafly - fly fish confidently ## Apps Similar to IdentaFly - [Fishing Knots Pro](https://apptail.io/app/fishing-knots-pro-jFd/united-states) - [Knot Kneedle®](https://apptail.io/app/knot-kneedle-dzx/united-states) - [PocketMacros](https://apptail.io/app/pocketmacros-kRee/united-states) - [Fishes of Montana](https://apptail.io/app/fishes-of-montana-GHNe/united-states) - [Florissant Explorer](https://apptail.io/app/florissant-explorer-fhVe/united-states) - [Learn How To Fly Fish](https://apptail.io/app/learn-how-to-fly-fish-zLdg/united-states) - [WiseH2O](https://apptail.io/app/wiseh2o-Kkaj/united-states) - [CA hatch match](https://apptail.io/app/ca-hatch-match-vvdj/united-states) - [Fly Fishing Masterclass](https://apptail.io/app/fly-fishing-masterclass-IwMk/united-states) - [Lateral Lines](https://apptail.io/app/lateral-lines-Qxqo/united-states) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
