Description

iDfish is a smart device application that provides you with reliable and consistent data when you’re out in the field doing what you love best: fishing!

Quickly identify species, determine the regulated size limit (if applicable), assess eating quality, and check if it should be released due to its protection status. All this information can be obtained in less than 60 seconds, giving the fish the best possible chance of survival when returned to the water.

iDfish has the largest database of line-caught species for mobile applications in the world. All the images in the database are high-quality and high-resolution. The developers of iDfish™ have gone to great lengths to represent fish images as they appear when freshly caught and removed from the water—no tank or underwater photos, no photos of dead fish, and no illustrations.

Fish can change color, shape, and size for various reasons. To ensure accurate identification, we also provide different color phases of various species. This feature, coupled with species comparison information, makes this previously difficult task quick and easy.

The application works offline and does not require an internet connection to function. Any trip information recorded will automatically back up to your account when an internet connection is re-established.

Note: The size of this application requires a WiFi connection for the initial installation from the iTunes App Store.

A yearly subscription is available to receive updates on fish details, limits, closures, and almanac data.

iDfish Reviews

Excellent app!!!

The database is always updating with new species. It helps to check and learn about new fish species. The moderators also are very helpful in helping you finding a species if you couldn’t find it on the database. Awesome app! 5/5

Better than google or your local fisho!

Whether you're out in the mangroves with no data, or fishing off your local jetty, this app has you covered with just about any and every species in our Aussie waters (with included methods on how to catch fish too). All rules and size limits and warnings are highly accurate too, and I have nothing to give as an improvement for the app. A true identification powerhouse.

Awesome app

If the app doesn’t help you, you can send a picture definitely to the team and they will id for no extra cost!

Preferred when it was free (sad)

Downloaded this as a way to try and start fishing more with the kids and teaching them at the same time as myself. Tried to go back in to have a look at types of fish for a location and saw it is now subscription based. Would like a super basic ‘lite’ edition for people who fish maybe a few weekends a year, and then subscribe for more often users. Would even pay a one off fee for a ‘lite’ version.

Best fish identification app on the market

I have no problem identifying new fish species since getting the app. Well worth every cent. You always have size and bag limits on hand as well as information on eating quality and habitat.

Best app I have ever used.

IDfish presence aspects of efficiency when finding a fish and easy-access information on the tides and eating quality. IDFish has more content and species than any other fish identification app on the market.

Very nice app

Not requiring internet it's a big one but that's what you need out on the water. Great pics, all the info about catching them and whether they eat good, even how to prepare them. To top it all off I had one that just wasn't obvious to me from the pic I'd taken, my friend nailed it but I wanted to confirm with app. I failed to navigate the menu because I didn't show top fin very well in my photo but the help feature replied within minutes at odd hours with the ID. Genuinely better than expected app, support and cost seems reasonable for someone learning the fish in their area

Must have app for all fishos

Super easy to use and if for some reason you can’t id the fish you are searching for the admins will do it for you. Also tells you size and bag limits as well as eating quality.
