Although I do not use all the features available-I know I should, it allows me to know where expenditures go and allows me to track costs of various projects as well. While adding data into the the program it would be nice to erase some typos in businesses that are used for a recognizd entry. The key to make a new expenditure entry could be made more readibly accessible. Those are minor but friendly additions. The graphing component is excellent for my use. The software is also unreliable as part as imported data is concerned. I had imported several years worth of data and categorized it. iFInance scrambled it. Finally, its connection to Plaid to bank accounts is even more unreliable. I understand that Mint must have been a money-loser, and it was shut down for that reason, but while it worked, Mint was head and shoulders above this software. -- PuritySyrup, 2024-03-01 ### ***** "Good app, but synchronization bug" I have used this app for a long time, I like the options which include - design, online currency and stock updating, folder and budget system. But after turning on synchronization between Mac and iPhone it becomes a nightmare. I lost my files after 4 years of running a budget, an app created a backup and copies every time when I tried to open a file, in one hour it created tens of the same files, each with the same name. I reinstalled the app and it didn't help. Will see. If this thing will be not fixed I will look for a new app or turn off the synchronization and use only on one device. One request would be to have ability to sync the local database with a spouse or significant other, preferably using iCloud. Software is sometimes temperamental, but the app support is there. I would like to see more powerful import, export capabilities which can parse fields exported by banks. I would like to see more powerful reporting capabilities which are optionally advanced. Cross account transfers need to be better supported to identify and link transactions between accounts so that they are neither expenses nor income. Being able to import data and identify two accounts which are in fact the same account, and might contain duplicates and need to be combined into one of them would be helpful I have other suggestions too -- Ashley Silver, 2023-12-28 ### ***** "Very Good Accounting Program" The best accounting program for Apple Products. Has very good Budget and Analysis information and very flexible to manipulate. The only problem the I have had is with its transfering of data among iPad, iPhone and Mac. They filtered it ALL away with this app. The trial version isn't. To see if this app will connect with your accounts, you have to buy it. Spoiler: It didn't. But wait! You also have to pay for a subscription to keep the data coming. You do get a free trial week AFTER you have paid for the app, but subsequently, you get dinged on a monthly or annual basis to keep your bank accounts up to date. Even if this app were not a huge cheat, it's not reliable. As others have noted, it keeps switching accounts to be based in Euros. If you manage to connect with an account, dont assume that iFinance will fetch your data reliably. Synium have published some decent software, but this one is a dog. Stay away. -- PuritySyrup, 2023-03-05 ### **--- "Unreliable and Temperamental" I loaded the iPad version of iFinance 5. I live in Canada. The interface was an unprofessional pink colour. After syncing my bank transactions, Canadian dollars switched to euros even though I had set the app for Canadian dollars. I spent twenty minutes of my time to switched the euros back to Canadian dollars and I made sure the default remained set at Canadian dollars. A short time later, the currency changed to euros again. Syncing with Tangerine Bank caused the app to crash. I gave up after several retries.
