Fail to connect FIX
iPhone 16, iOS 18, GR III = Fail. When I try to transfer photos it always fails. After hours of research, the FIX for me was to open the Apple Settings app, go to Image Sync app and enable “Local Network”

This app needs redesigning by a decent UX designer. I suspect many of the complaints could be solved by making the UI far less opaque.
Does not work. Never connects to camera even after following all the instructions.
At first it was very frustrating. GR iii’s manual is not well written. But here’s what worked for me. Get WiFi info from the camera. Go to iOS WiFi settings and connect your WiFi to the camera’s SSID. Do this first. You can transfer photos this way. But you don’t want to have to manually select the camera as WiFi source every time right? On the next launch, go to Bluetooth settings in the camera and connect via BT (from within this app). FYI you can’t transfer photos with BT. This is going to be used to auto connect to WiFi going forward. So you have to manually go back and connect to WiFi to transfer photos (like the first time). But on subsequent uses (after turning camera off/on) i launch this app and it connects automatically to the camera first via BT and then connects automatically via WiFi. So it took a few tries/steps. Note: I have the camera’s BT settings to allow BT to ALWAYS be on. Makes the iPhone <> Camera connection happen faster.
I tried syncing both my R3 and R3x cameras. Neither would connect. I tried both Bluetooth and WiFi. I can get WiFi connected to the cameras, but the app still won’t connect. So I deleted the app. Worthless. Linen on an iPhone 15. So Apple may have something to do with the issue. But the app is supposed to work with iPhone 15.
Terrible app
Like most camera. manufacturers apps, basically useless.
I was able to connect to my camera once, and since than it always fails to connect. What a useless app.
Editing this review- VPN will make this app not connect to the camera! For something easy to use to transfer direct to phone it’s great.
I noticed the last reviews were from 3+ years ago. I use this app with my Ricoh GR III Diary Edition. I transfer my photos from the camera to my iPhone quickly. You can instantly upload your photos to instagram with ease. No issues. Five stars.
