Impressia for Pixelfed Reviews
Where’s the help?
I uploaded a photo & accidentally marked it as sensitive. I wanted to edit it so I can remove the sensitive designation. A community support blog said when viewing your photo to click the edit button. There is no edit button! There’s a settings button. My only option is to delete the photo & start over. I clicked on the “support” link on the App Store & it takes me to a bio about the guy who owns the app. This is the most un-user photo sharing app I’ve ever used. Pixelfed could learn something from 500pix , EyeEym, Vero, & IG. I also a msg about XL something text for vision impaired. What??? HOW do I turn it on??? Where’s the support???
Pixelfed Perfection
Vernissage is excellent! We are getting closer and closer to the tipping point of the fediverse becoming mainstream, and when that happens, I am sure this app will be a crucial part of the process.
Can’t log in on iOS 17
App doesn’t allow me to log in.
Can’t log in on iPhone
Always gives 419 page expired. Works fine on iPad. Been this way a few weeks.
The Pixelfed app we needed
Vernissage is elegant and functional. There are no distractions, the focus is photography. But, cleverly and soberly, we can tap to find a lot of customization and all the usual functionalities in other platforms. Posting through the app is easy and intuitive. If you have already found Pixelfed, you need this, and if you didn’t, you would be surprised. Pixelfed just got much more interesting to me after finding Vernissage.
New
Good app so far. Installed on my iPhone 13 seamlessly. Easy interface. Haven't been able to locate how to delete or edit posted materials or choose a licensing model (i. e. ; CC, attribute, etc). Am sure will come with maturity.
Worthy contender and worth a test drive.
Beautiful App
Lovely view of photos. And easy way to upload them too. Just a simple beautiful app.
Photos are the main event
The app works and functions very well. The UI is developed using native swift ui components so it’s blazing fast and looks at home in iOS.
The app is a stream of photos and feels like it’s inspired by TikTok and other short video style apps where the UI gets out of your way and let’s the content shine.
There are a few quirks with the UX patterns, but I appreciate the unique approach.
can’t log in to pixelfed.social
can’t log in, get a 419 (page expired) error. no problem with the web interface though
Best Pixelfed app
I’ve been beta testing the official app, but this one is much better in my opinion. It puts the focus on images, rather than looking like an Instagram clone.
