Once you buy shares, your money is stuck till an IPO happens. But even then you can’t sell those stocks for the next 6 months. This means that if your shares tank during this duration, there’s not much you can do - you’re just a silent spectator. Incred is filled with shares that have no immediate plans to file for an IPO. This means the only other way to get your money back is to request Incred to buy back your unlisted shares (through an email) But at that point, Incred realises that you are desperate and will always give you a much lower buy back price. So let’s say you bought a share at Rs.50/unit. Assume that this share rose to Rs.60/unit in 6 months. If you now try to sell it back to Incred, they would quote you a buy back price of Rs. 45/unit (stating that there’s poor buyer demand), when the same share would have a buy price of Rs. 60/unit in their platform.
