When I finally installed Credit Karma I was met with a platform that comes across as encouraging and reassuring rather than admonishing. There are a suite of tools and financial products available here that can put you on the right track. Credit Karma does a good job of pointing them out to you and making them easy to access. Within 6 months I had paid down my credit card debt with a lower rate personal loan, and refinanced it to an even lower rate. My credit has really made a significant turnaround in that time. Credit Karma gave me a lot of the tools I used to do it. If you want to improve your credit I recommend getting Credit Karma and finding out where you stand as the first step. -- Saggy_Weenus, 2026-09-11 ### *---- "Lies and a money making scam. ZERO STARS!!" Wanted to look into getting my home refinanced and was on the phone and was never told about a $500 dollar transaction they did on there end and they wanted to do a appraisal on the house and they were sending someone out costing me $800. I was able to call the appraisal woman and I told her not to come and I was canceling the appraisal when I didn’t agree to it. Credit Karma told me I couldn’t cancel and they had to come out but the appraisal woman understood my situation and canceled for me. They wouldn’t refund me my $500 when I was never told about it when I reported I was never informed and do not give them you card information when they ask. They just say they need it on file and then I had a charge on my credit card I didn’t approve. They are over priced and a big scam. Very disappointing especially when I was looking to save and they wouldn’t answer my calls after I told them I am polling my application because they gave me false information.
