## iTAK Description
**Compatible with ALL TAK ecosystem (TAK server, WinTAK, ATAK, WebTAK)**

The Team Awareness Kit (TAK) (known as the Tactical Assault Kit in the Department of Defense) application: 

iTAK is a collaborative geospatial application to see your teams’ locations, sensor information, videos, chat, and more in real-time.  iTAK supports Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial sector standards for icons, sensor information, and communication. Data can be pre-loaded into iTAK or downloaded from the network (via TAK Server) when available.

iTAK capabilities include:
• Online and offline mapping (most standard formats), download the maps right in the app
• Blue force / team tracking (BFT)
• Collaborative mapping, including points, drawings, locations of interest
• Import and display of KML, KMZ, GeoPDF overlays
• Location marking, sharing, with photo tagging
• Chat, file sharing, photo sharing
• Live video streaming with the ability to share video links
• Spotted map to mark and share multiple locations across your map
• Digital pointer to rapidly mark and share items on the map with your team
• Navigation-walking/hiking, driving, also useful flying and air-ground coordination
• Center on self or other objects (e.g. another person in the network)
• Range, bearing measurement tools
• Team Emergency Beacons
• Customizable toolbar
• 3D perspective
• All data is secured and fully compatibility with the TAK ecosystem (ATAK, TAK Server, WinTAK)
• Useful for law enforcement, first responders, hunting, fishing, ornithology, wildlife site survey

Just curious why the iTAK GUI, menus, etc. don’t mirror the GUI such of ATAK. Just saying it would be nice if the program looked exactly the same regardless which device it is loaded on.

I even registered on the TAC web site just to be able to open the “Resources” page, but can’t find any documentation whatsoever for the iTAK app.

Lemme explain, it’s convenient because it being a free app and I enjoy using it when I need it. Lately I’ve been having problems with the app crashing once I upload a file from my downloads. It happens almost 9/10 of the time. When it works for me it’s just fine. I also have issues when I want to change the maps, it would crash when I try to put Hybrid or whatever map I choose. I’d have to open the app and it would continue to crash and not allow me to even access the app because the screen will be dark. There’s times I have had to delete and install the app multiple times to get it to work. Not to mention my connection is usually good. Another thing, once the app begins to work fine for me one day, if I close out of it and try to use it again the next day, the whole buggy process starts over again. I’d have to uninstall the app the next day I use it just to use it for that specific day again. I hope this gets resolved, as I said before the app is convenient and I enjoy using it when it’s working just fine and not buggy.

Works well for my team when hooked to the server. Needs to allow for integration of Meshtastic, beartooth, goTenna to really be useful.

When I’m at the dispatch station and I sent someone a message, they do not get a notification, this app says to go into notifications and modify I check, but it does not appear to be in the notification section of the iPhone. 

Update: uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the issue

### ****- "Awesome but lacking Meshtastic"
Kudos to the TAK Product Center!

My Community Emergency Response Team would benefit greatly from iTAK. However, we operate in areas that lack cellular and wi-fi networks. While ATAK on Android can use Meshtastic to overcome this, iTAK on iPhone/iPad still cannot.

As an iPhone and Apple Watch user, iTAK with Meshtastic support would be awesome for me any many of my CERT members. If possible, please prioritize this enhancement. Thanks!

Nice looking app and seems to have the basic functionality in line but would definitely benefit from tx/rx capabilities through Meshtastic or other open source devices like ATAK does. It’s a bummer to have to keep an android phone around and charged just to have full TAK functionality
